Phonak Lumity Naida 90 UP BTE Review

The gain tables could be created but for SILN the mic goes to stereo zoom which is missing onP30 and 50.
Also dynamic noise cancellation is only on L90 and 70.
Can’t remember all the app but I did have music as a manual program and TV was in the app but not Target.

Target will not match a P70 and P90 together. It has to be the same technology lvl for both ads P70-UP left and P70-UP right. My audiologist said the P50-UP would be perfect for me but l wanted the P70-UP for more fitting options so l brought the P70-UP. This year, l will buy a pair of L90-UP aids.

Managed to program my new Phonak P70 to pair to my NHS P70 so I have two rights that are linked to my one left.

Hope that makes sense.

Means I’ll have bilateral audio if my right side breaks and won’t have to get my laptop out to program them to link.

@Zebras
This is interesting, and helpful. Do you have them setup in Target as two seperate customers?

No same client. I just loaded client and connected the new Aid.

It warns you the serial number isn’t the same but just click okay and then it all works.

Brilliant Ruth, saves a lot of time, and effort, thank you very much for this information  Very, very nifty, if you want a set of duplicate aids, or indeed a single aid… It never ceases to amaze me, what excellent workaround’s, we get on here  You are indeed a wonderful asset @Zebras

I’ll see if the App will read all 3 Aids, 2 at a time at some point today.

UPDATE -

The App doesn’t connect to all 3 Aids.

I only use the App to allow more background noise to come through when on Bluetooth so it’s not really needed.

Excellent stuff @Baltazard… Any improvement for those in the profound thresholds, is a blessing… Thank you for that update

About mask program and mask fitting

Thanks.
My experience was a year ago.

Admitting ward. I heard conversations with clarity 25 feet behind me. I was on my back with a mask on. Everyone had masks on. Ontario. CAnada. Yes in hospital all wore masks

Surgeon was at my feet and I couldn’t understand a word. Paradise P90Rs on.

Very colorful and nice. The wrap matches the mold.

Yeah, I remeber the thread you initiated.

By the way, I have my trebles (2k and above) go beyond feedback treshold to make exact REM adjustment (the Target give a possibility to overrun it) and this was bull’s-eye. I also have no feedback despite this adjustment.

I can’t use Target. However, I have adjusted using myPhonak

The mask program from Phonak adjusts mid and treble frequencies. It’s very similar to the Clarity button on myPhonak

My hearing aids are somewhat better now

The dispensing firms hearing tests were awful. 10-20 dB off
He specified the wrong domes
He didn’t set the left hearing aid to talk to the right.

My Practitioner is doing much better.

I’ll be back

Edit.

I don’t know how to make further improvements.

A concern. My hearing aids were awarded due to exposure to loud noise at work. Labour Ministry (guvmint) restricts what they pay for.

If my hearing changes they pay.

I haven’t had REM yet. I don’t know if it would make a difference

I have REM first time after almost 20 years of using hearing aids. With Phonak earmold with AOV (acoustically optimized venting basen on most recent audiogram) it made a HUGE difference.

In the chart below the shorter column, the better (the grey, after REM):

You may watch this clip (from this moment specifically about REM, but the whole is worth of attention):

I have had 3 Audis All used REM.
The last one consistently used REM. Yet I couldn’t understand what was said. He helped by providing incentive to find someone new
I’m very lucky being in the new practitioners care.

Same hearing aids work much better now. They are provided to me by workman’s compensation. I haven’t had REM yet. He provided a hearing test as soon as he could. His test showed 10-20 dB worse hearing than the previous tests had shown.

I recently saw Dr Cliffs video where he disclosed how much he charges to sort out hearing aid setup of hearing aids that were not set up properly by someone else. He works hard and the cost he charges is high because of that

We see the best hearing care professionals here. They share so much and I’m very grateful.

So, after appointment with the newest audiologist you are satisfied with your Paradises? And the description on your profile is after that? Glad to read about improvement:)

When you have the last appointment?

Full story. I don’t mean to bore others.

I’ve made gains.

I’m lucky the new hearing aid practitioner took me on. He had manufacturing skills. I have workman’s compensation. I can get new hearing aids in 3+ years. (5 yr cycle) WSIB will not provide new hearing aids until then.

WSIB Ontario will pay for service if my hearing changes. Otherwise appointments are about every six months. That’s why I had to wait 6 months for a new hearing test. There’s been no REM. I don’t know what to make of that

When I switched to him he used my audiogram from the dispensing Audi. I asked him what he found because I heard better.

  • Paradise ha were not connected. Right and left.

  • wrong domes were specified

  • Hearing aid volume had been reduced by old Audi because my hearing had improved. Yeah sure

After the new hearing test by my hearing aid practitioner my hearing was 10 to 20 dB worse than the Audi’s hearing test! Skilled practitioner and he uses brand new equipment. (The dispensing Audi couldn’t pair with my hearing aids unless my phone was turned off. He had to call Phonak so they would help him pair my phone with the hearing aids he provided for me)

Had two follow up tests after that with my new practitioners wonderful hearing test.

Observation. I hated my Paradise P90 hearing aids while I was a patient of the dispensing. Audi. I couldn’t hear for a year and a half.

I hate the rechargeable batteries. I had no say in them. The Audi handed the aids to me and set them up. I had no choice.

Trying to be fair, It’s a miracle he got them. They solved a safety problem at work. I couldn’t hear fast noisy equipment overtaking me at work. I was almost hit a number of times. My previous ha s were 2-1/2 years old

I treated him with respect until I learned he had reduced volume and erased all the custom programs on my hearing aids during my last appointment. He did a quick fit.

Now with this hearing aid practitioner I can hear so much better. Yet I learned here that real ear measures are necessary. He hasn’t done REM

Would I recommend my dispensing Audi?
NO WAY. Iused to and that was a mistake.

Would I recommend Paradise Audeo p90. I’d think twice. I want to hear better in noise. Lumity. Yes maybe. I am impressed with talk here about Oticon and Lumity.

My next appointment will be in about 5 months. Hope this helps.

EDIT I apologize for the rant. My dispensing audiologist provided hearing aids that didnt work. I’ve provided my history so readers may understand. We all have different hearing issues. Some of us live in other nations where things are done differently. And I have workman’s compensation and am very lucky for that. As a taxpayer I’m grateful they control costs.
