I went to Client Systems Support & Remote Assistance and the latest Genie 2 available there is 2021.2.1, which I already have, and it doesn’t have the BTE model built-in yet. Did you get your latest Genie 2 update somewhere else? Can you provide a link to it?
@Volusiano I’ve checked for update today and there was one, so I’ve updated through the Oticon Genie Updater:
Unless: Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, and Hamlet is taking out the trash
OK, thanks. I ran the Genie Updater and it told me there’s no new update yet. I wonder if it depends on where one is based out of? Are you in the US?
@Volusiano UK
Now I am waiting for Oticon More SuperPower version to be released in August 2022 which will succeed 2019 Xceed.
Any word whether SuperPower BTE aid will be released this month?
I am still waiting for a replacement to the Xceeds. Its getting close to approx. 2.5 years.
I was hoping that Oticon would launch More SuperPower BTE aid this month. Today Oticon Global launched Oticon Own ITE with DNN and entry-level Oticon Jet BTE Plus Power aids without DNN. Come on Oticon, get your act together.
@hearing-love_loss: Could it be that Oticon’s engineer has determined that people’s hearing who require power or UP aids is so far “gone” that they won’t benefit from the highly nuanced soundscape provided by the Polaris platform? Perhaps they will never release More in Power or UP configurations.
More miniRITE has a fitting range up to 105db which suits my needs. But I prefer BTE version. Besides, Xceed is already 3 years old and needs hi-end replacement, which apparently Jet is not. Starkey already has Power Plus version of their evolv AI available. If my Oticon receiver fails before Oticon releases PP or SuperPower version of More, then Starkey will get my money.
@hearing-love_loss Phonak Naida, Signia Motion X SP?
Signia is not available in my country. Phonak Paradise is already 4 years old and Phonak has not yet released an AI aid.
Phonak Paradise is not 4 years old. Definitely not. It’s only nearly 2 years old.
Phonak Marvel was released in 2018.
Just Googled.
Phonak Audeo Paradise was released August 19th 2020.
Phonak Naida Paradise was released February 22nd 2021.
Speak of the devil. My right receiver failed right now. I take it that Oticon won’t release any new aids this year. So I am going to buy Starkey evolv AI. I am hoping I won’t have to pay an exorbitant price for Starkey because my current provider clinic is getting Oticon aids for 1/3 of the retail price.
I went to a Starkey audiologist in 2015 and was quoted 6,500 a pair of power bte aids. Oticon should be coming out with Xceed replacements next few months.
Oticon More was launched in November 2020. Oticon released new aids in August 2021, then in February 2022, then this August. There seems to be a 6-month interval between recent releases. Maybe they will release in November?
Now the question is: should I pick Phonak Paradise over Starkey evolv AI? Phonak has the classical Bluetooth. evolv AI has an AI. How does evolv AI compare to Oitcon More?
I went ahead and got a nice pair of Evolv AI Power Plus BTE. I noticed that I hear less background noises compared with Oticon. Now if only I can find custom Oticon MyMusic gain settings which was posted on this forum by the professional musician and transfer its settings. It would be fun to see how it would work out.
Nice glad you like them, but
Your not going to be able to do this, Oticon to Starkey is not going to work, of course you could manually do it in the software, but whatever you use on your music program needs to be “fit” to your hearing loss, not someone’s else’s settings.
Check out this website if you want to know more about setting up a custom music program on your HAs.
Oticon Real just got released. But no SuperPower/UltraPower BTE aids.
Glad that did not wait for Oticon any more and got another brand.
They are supposed to announce new aids next month. They should announce new replacements for the Xceeds sometime this year.
