Just paired my Paradise to my phone. Finally realized I shouldn’t use the MFi to pair, these aids have Classic BT! So paired within BT and easily paired. It will be interesting to see the difference from MFi!
Just had a phone call and had to keep say slow down why is it everyone is in so much damn hurry.
I’m having exactly the same experience!
I got my replacement ear mold this morning. It is a full skeleton clear acrylic and it feels great, and no slipping at least so far. My Audiologist, mailed me the ear mold, and the tool to replace it. It was really easy to remove the other ear mold and replace it with the new one. Everything sounds great. I can feel the difference and I am sure I am going to have to get use to the skeleton ear mold.
@cvkemp: You’ll get used to it, Chuck! (Paint them up so they resemble some sorta bug in your ear!)
My right ear mold wasn’t changed it is a canal lock and it hasn’t given me any problems with slipping. But from now on I will just request the full skeleton for both ears.
With both ear molds firmly in place in my ear canals the over all sound is a great deal better. And conversations are easier to understand. Just over all a better sound all around.
Nice one, Chuck!
You should write a book.
I think he does everyday here on the forum.
Couldn’t help myself.
I just hope it is useful information
Your posts are very useful, and guess what?
I’ve been lobbying my audi about problems with the OPN S’s, and she got approval from her Chief to get me into the More’s.
I’m going in next Wed. for Audiogram, impressions, and hopefully I’ll be able to share some of that joy you’ve spread soon!
Thanks.
When I first heard about the Oticon More hearing aids, I said okay this is just Oticon marketing put the spin on a faster processor for the OPNS aids. Then I Started reading the first white papers that came out and said they make the More aids sound really good. Then I started hearing and reading the early reviews that were way more positive than I really expected. After getting my OPNS1 aids less than a year earlier I never expected to be getting the More1 aids, I figured that maybe I would get a future version that comes out in a few years. But when I went to the VA clinic in March was given a hearing test and asked to wait until after the VA contracts updated in May I was thinking this cannot happen to me my OPNS1 aids aren’t a year old and they only need the t-coils repaired, and I also had the issue with my left ear mold slipping out. May came around I went for my appointment my Audiologist did a few adjustments to my OPNS1 aids, took me to the hearing aid tech and I got new impressions then my Audiologist said I have ordered the More1 aids for you, and the impressions go overnight to the lab. My appointment wasn’t until June 18th and while waiting my head was filled with hopes and doubts. I wasn’t really expecting a wow difference from my OPNS1 aids, but a WOW is what I have found with the More1 aids over the OPNS1 aids. I have to be very honest here I believe some of it is the improvement in the ear molds. Now that my left ear mold is no longer slipping the improvement is a great one. The sound is really rich, clear, and impressive. Even streaming sounds better and phone calls are better. My wife has even committed that I am not asking her to repeat as often. I am not understanding speech and conversations perfectly and I never will, but it is so much better. I have noticed while listening to audiobooks and following a long in the book how much better I am understanding the words. If I am in my office I will not use the Bluetooth streaming but the speaker on my iPad for the audiobooks so I have noticed in the past that I understand better streaming than over the speakers. But that has become much better with the speakers now that I am wearing the More1 aids with properly fitted ear molds.
I know this is long but I needed to put this in writing the Oticon More1 aids are for real, it isn’t marketing or just wishful thinking.
Now I realize the Oticon More aids aren’t for everyone, there are the ones that just will not like the open sound, and others will feel bombarded by more sounds than they have heard in so long that it will overwhelm them.
Great church service this morning, with the new ear mold in my left ear everything sounds louder, and I didn’t need to use the t-coils to fully understand the sermon and notifications.
I find it amazing how quickly our brains adapt and except new things. I noticed over the last week just how much sounds are becoming clearer and less jumbled up. At church I noticed that even with the organ a little too loud my aids and brain was able to separate the singing from the organ and I was able to understand the song and the organ music individually.
Still cannot understand a soft spoken person with a face mask on.
I got in an argument with the clerk at the front desk at the doctors office. I had to tell her 3 times I couldn’t understand her with the mask on, she made what I caught as a smart remark, and I bluntly said for the last 20 years are so I have had to adjust and compromise because I have a hearing loss, but I have seen very few places and people that are willing to adjust or compromise for me as a hearing loss, and hearing disabled person. She got offended and walked off. The doctors office manager did come out and say she was sorry. I said I understand that we have issues with this virus, but I have seen very few places that even try to be helpful for the ones that have hearing loss and depend on lipreading.
At least the doctor how knows me was wearing a face shield and no mask.
I was having a bad sinus headache and stuffed up head which makes my hearing worse.
I saw them Jim, maybe a shot of Southern Comfort.
Exactly. That’s about the only thing that works on viral sinusitis, I think.
Nature is my orchestra, I love going to my favorite bench on my favorite trail and setting and listening to nature’s best. The flowing stream, the different bird songs, the wood peckers, this morning with the coming storms later the wind blowing in the tree tops, and the sounds of the chipmunks, and squirrels as they run here and there gathering up for winter.
At night in my backyard it is the sound of the tinny tree frogs, and the night time bugs, and the owls. Life is wonderfully alive with God’s orchestra of nature’s music.
Just ordered my more 2 today upgrading from opn s3, Can’t wait to wear them on my ears, so excited…!
what my audiologist did was transfer my OPNS1 settings to my More1 aids, then made the needed extra adjustments to the fitting. It has worked great for me.
Well even with the skeleton ear mold in my left ear my ear mold slips just a little, as I have always said, my head is lopsided, I really don’t believe I can get a better fitting ear mold, and the slip isn’t enough to even worry about.
