I am a Veterinarian that has developed a bit of tinnitis and it has gotten bad enough that I had to acquire a pair of hearing aids (Widex moment). The problem comes when I have to take them out to use my wired electronic stethoscope (Thinklabs One) and then put them back in to listen to the clients discussion. I was wondering if anybody had found a small size bluetooth transmitter that can pair with Widex moment hearing aids that has a stereo audio jack input(3.5mm)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There was a thread about this awhile back. As far as I know there are no great solutions to this issue. Here’s the thread. Bluetooth stethoscope to hearing aids
Android smartphone that can run the Widex Moment app to connect to your hearing aids
AND smartphone has a 3.5mm socket for external headset where the headset has a microphone.
Techie person should be able to build an adapter cord where one end plugs into the electronic stethoscope and the other into the smartphone socket (=jack). Put the smartphone into streaming mode and it should play the stethoscope sounds into your hearing aids.
I use this Anker bluetooth transmitter when listening to a handheld police scanner.
Easily paired with my Phonak hearing aids, very reliable. If your hearing aids are always paired to your phone, you may or may not need to turn bluetooth off on your phone. Phonak aids only allow a connection to one device at a time.
Paradise. Lumity and the new Phonak that has just come out, can connect to two things at once. It’s just Marvel that can’t connect to more then one at once.
Yeah, I tried the adapter cord scenario. Unfortunately, I have a Google Pixel 7 and the only input jack is a USB-C port. Tried a stereo 3.5mm jack to USB-C male adapter cord. Pixel 7 didn’t recognize it as an input sound signal and wouldn’t play the sound through its speakers, never mind the hearing aids.
Alas, the only option would seem to be buying one of the Widex DEX accessories, maybe the ones that connect to TVs?
However they are more expensive than smartphones.
