Settings in MyPhonak for Sphere Speech and others

Hi,
In year 18 of hearing aids, and just bought my first Phonak, the Infinio Sphere I90. They seem like a very nice upgrade to my 10 yr. old Resound hearing aids, but I am trying to understand how to evaluate the Sphere function, and the app, and am finding very confusing info on various sites, including this one.

First, I have read in several places to set “Spheric Speech Clarity” to maximum. Is this in the audiologist’s Target app, or in MyPhonak. I can’t find anything like that.

Second, it doesn’t seem like I can manually switch to the various programs like “Calm situation” or “Speech in Noise” (which seems different than Spheric Speech Clarity. I haven’t gotten it to switch to SSC, although that is probably because I have just tried noise, and haven’t tried a noisy environment while listening to someone. Is that right?

Third, if I am sitting in a restaurant, and have trouble hearing, I am guessing that I would try the Clarity and Speech equalizer presets, and adjust speech focus and noise reduction to match the exact environment I am in. Is that how people use the app?

Thanks. It is strange being an experienced user and Newbie all at the same time.

It would be amazing if someone would do a video explaining all of this.

You need to read some posts from @JordanK as he’s a Phonak fan, I’m sure you’ll get some insight on your new sphere models from him.

This is a link to the lengthy JordanK Thread

That the Infinio Sphere switches automatically into Spheric Speech Clarity

Additionally you should ask your fitter to add an additional Spheric Speech programm , which you could manually switch to,. if you need it.

Here is a post, about the sttings in the MayPhonak App

And this post showing, how the fitter can adjust the Speric Speech Programm in Target

I recommend courses from AudiologyOnline. You need to register for a free account and find the Phonak courses.
