I got a demo set of Vivia 9’s the other day and I wear silicone moulds … I wear my HA’s about 15/16 hrs. a day … I’m retired living in Florida and play sports most mornings/afternoons… I travel around in my development by a motorized golf cart and on many days it is breezy/windy… I can hear the difference after a few seconds in the quelling of the noise from the golf cart motor and also I have very little wind noise/static from the wind… I played softball yesterday and definitely had a MUCH easier time of understanding my team mates around me on the field and in the dugout … again it was windy and had NO problem with wind noise when on the field… this morning I played pickleball at a recreation center with 6 courts and 24 players playing at once… usually I turn my HA’s volume down because of the distracting noise from the courts next to me but this morning I didn’t make any adjustments and clarity of players talking on my court was very good … both days I switched between AUTO and OUTDOOR programs and I preferred the AUTO prog… I also tried HEAR IN NOISE prog. and it did knock a lot of the surronding noise down but it didn’t seem like I needed it… in the late afternoons/evenings I usually stream my TV watching DVR’d programs or sports… I stream about 5/6 hrs and when I’m done for the night I’ve had 60% battery life left … 1 thing i did notice was when I come inside I turn my volume down 1/2 clicks because everything seems very loud indoors… when I’m in the living room and the wife is doing something in the kithchen the next room over which have no walls between I can still hear her when she is talking to me but if she is moving around dishes or pans on the counter it seems VERY loud compared to her voice … I’m going to ask my Audi if there is a adjustment for that background noise… tomorrow night my wife and I are going to see an indoor concert featuring a Chicago tribute band … I will post how the new HA’s work because before the show it is very noisy and difficult with everyone talking seated around and behind us… and the show is definitely loud…
Very interesting. Thanks for posting and do please keep us informed how it goes.
My audi admitted he was still learning about the Vivia’s when he gave me the demo’s so I ended up watching a couple tutorials today on the new Vivia’s and learned a couple things… I didn’t realize that when in the AUTO program and going into a noisy enviroment that the AI part to quell the noise doesn’t automatically kick in… you have to change programs to HEAR IN NOISE for AI to work… but WOW what a difference … I tested it by driving my golf cart and then also using a leaf blower in both AUTO prog and then switching to HEAR IN NOISE … what a HUGE difference especially using the leaf blower it squelched the loud motor of the blower and I actually said a few words as in speaking to someone and could easily hear myself… tonight at the concert were going to should be a good test and I will try all programs in that type of enviroment
How large is the diameter of the vents? Could you provide a picture? Good luck with concert!
The 2 vents are small …1 is at top and 2nd just above switch

You trialed the Spheres. Maybe it’s too early in your trial of the Vivias to say, but as time goes by, maybe you could give your impression (from what you can remember of the Spheres!), as to how well Vivia works in extremely noisy places compared to the Spheres, which I have and find work great.
the concert went well… we had front row seats so plenty of chatter behind us… I was in ALL AROUND prog and then I tried out the noise filter and it did help a lot … I then switched to HIN prog. and there was a big difference in quieting all the talking from behind us… I did have to increase my Vol. to hear my wife talking right next to me… once the band started playing I was still in HIN prog and also tried MUSIC and then back to AA prog. I finally ended up in AA prog and turned volume down a couple clicks and actually preferred that prog. volume was good and the mix of guitars/drums and the horn section was very good and could also hear their lead singer clearly… have a visit to my audi tomorrow for a small adj. and to ask questions about HIN prog and AI, I still have no idea when in HIN prog if and when AI is actually on… and how offten the 2 small filters on surface of HA should be changed?? Jim… you’re right haven’t had enough time to be in many indoor setting with noise… as far as outdoors so far I prefer the ReSound in somewhat noisy sports conditions… as you know the tone/sound is different for every HA and I have always preferred the ReSound tones and have trialed all the major HA brands… also there is no comparison in their apps … and battery life is also excellent wearing on avg 15 hrs a day and streaming TV 5/6 hrs and app shows battery life at 60% when done for the night
I don’t think the picture loaded.
Maybe you can see in the smartphone app?
I mean venting in earmolds, because they’re essential for proper directionality and denoising features.
About microphone filter changing—it might be similar to changing microphone filters in older sound processors like the Nucleus 6. Supposedly, you need a plastic bar similar to the one used for changing receiver filters.
EDIT:
Can these filter be used with the Nexia aids ?
Vent size in moulds are 1.3 mil. but mould vents size can be adjusted if needed
I have been wearing the Vivia 9’s for four days now. The audiologist only setup two programs, “normal” and “HIN - Hearing In Noise”. The HIN is where the second AI chip is turned on.
I recently purchased a Nexia HA to pair with my Cochlear CI. My Audiologist has told me that ReSound told them that they will be coming out with a retrofit for the Nexia to allowing changing filters, like with the Vivia, but as of last week (March 5, 2025) it still wasn’t available.
i went for an adj.on my HA’s to cut down back ground noise while indoors and had the music prog. removed… when indoors and in the Auto prog it works much better now after adjustment… when someone is in the next room/kitchen moving dishes or pans around it’s not as loud as before… I also went golfing today and it was pretty breezy/windy but had no wind noise/static at all from my HA’s …I only had a small problem when it got real windy and my friend who was in front of me talking and the wind was blowing from behind me toward him… I couldn’t hear him which has been normal for all my HA’s in the past… what I did notice when it wasn’t windy was that I heard people that were about 20/30 yds away talking on their back lanai … I couldn’t make out what they were saying but it was unusual to actually hear them… in fact my friend was surprised (he has good hearing) and said you can actually hear them… so far I really haven’t had the chance to use the HIN program much except when at the concert and testing the HIN prog with my leaf blower… I haven’t been in a noisy restaurant… I have tried testing out the AA, HIN, and OD program out a few times at pickleball which is somewhat noisy from all the chatter… when in HIN it does quiet down the sounds a great deal and almost to much … when in AA and OD prog I also have tried the noise filter and it works well in both… but what I have realized is that I’m no longer turning down the volume on my HA’s when playing to lower the noise…over the next few days I will keep going between AA and OD prog. but so far I seem to prefer the AA prog the most … again battery life is excellent I have yet to have less than 60% charge left on HA’s at the end of the night and that’s with about 6 to 7 hrs. streaming TV… 1 thing I don’t like is that when changing prog. if I go from prog 1 to 2 then want to go back I have to cycle thru 3&4 to get back to 1 because HA’s have no rocker switch … that’s 1 reason I removed MUSIC prog which I didn’t care for… also I phoned ReSound and had a conversation with 1 of their reps about the AI program… and yes it only works in the HIN prog… so I asked if it’s suppose to be “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE” why wont it kick in while using any prog when you go into a nosiy situation… that to me would be the INTELLIGENT way to do it…lol
Over all I’m REALLY pleased with the Vivia’s and prefer them over the others I have trialed (phonak, starkey, oticon) hopefully soon I will try them out in a noisy restaurant
I umpired a softball game today behind home plate and there were stands behind me to the right and left with about 30/40 people sitting watching the game and talking … directly behind me about 25 feet back were another 10 standing behind the backstop fencing… I started out in AA prog and the chatter from both sides and behind was pretty distracting so instead of turning the HA volume down as I have done in the past between innings I clicked on the Noise Filter and it worked great lowering the volume of all the chatter but I was still able to hear the players clearly in front of me…after a couple more innings I tried the HIN/AI program and that also made a HUGE difference over the AA and Noise Filter where it was almost an eerie feeling and to quiet is the only way I can explain it… after 1 inning about 15 min. I switched back to AA prog with the Noise Filter and definitely preferred that… it quelled the background noise but not to much… honestly so far with my life style I don’t think I will be actually using the HIN prog with AI all that much because the AA and Nosie Filter option works so good… maybe in a restaurant which I hope to try soon… I have worn ReSound HA’s for many years and have worn the models ONE, QUATTRO, OMNIA, and trialed the NEXIA’S in my opinion the Vivia’s are NIGHT AND DAY better and I have never said that before when changing to a newer model HA … I also think ReSound has the best app by far than all other brands… so far I’m 90% sure just after wearing them for just a short time that I will be ordering a set soon… 1 other thing I forgot to mention is that living in Florida I usually have on sunglasses and when I trialed the Phonak spheres the bows of the glasses were always hitting into the HA’s because of their size… the Vivia’s are so much smaller I no longer have that problem
Ureout, you are an impressive “detail gatherer”. I had the Jabra enhanced pro 20 and had a terrible time with connectivity using an android phone. Could you coment on phone connectivity? Thanks a lot.
Yes good point, I’d also like to know just how stable this is.
user322… I have an Iphone it’s a couple years old and I have no problem with streaming calls and receiving a tone when I get a text … I also have no problem streaming TV
As I have posted so far I prefer the AA prog for indoors and when I’m outdoors…On my Resound app I have set up 2 location sites so when leaving the house in the morning I travel about 2 blocks away and I set up a location to automatically alter my AA program by adding the Noise Filter and raising the volume from 6 to 8 and upon returning home I set up another location to automatically lower the volume and turn off the Noise Filter … I will still experiment with the outdoor program once I get to my destination…
