What level of hearing loss are you dealing with? I have profound hearing loss and beginning to wonder if Phonak’s best is not best for me. My neighbor has Oticon and seems to hear well so I’m tempted to see what Widex has that might help me. We certainly can try every hearing aid so insight such as yours is worth putting Widex on a list of “Possibilities”. Just a side note - I wonder why/how they name these things, I can’t thing how “Widex” makes sense. Like, if I were a manufacturer of H.A. I would name them something like Clarity or even Clarion, something more suggestive of hearing clearly.
Hi, as a musician in my experience wearing hearing aids, Widex was what I have most successful outcome with and has the most natural sound. As far as for you, go with trying out different brands and seeing what you like most. I have a flat moderate loss
Oticon Xceed aids and Phonak Paradise aids are best for severe profound hearing loss. I used to have a pair of Widex Super 440s for Tinnitus program but the aid wasn’t powerful enough 73 dB gain vs 80 dB gain l needed. I sold the Widex aids a year later.
yes mine move. Now understand they will not match it perfectly as each setting will have some inherent difference based on the fact that that setting is for different use cases, but mine will adjust to “fit”
I got the impression that Paradise and Lumity are very much the same but with the addition of a few tweaks here and there so I’m curious why your post mentions only Phonak Paradise. Is it because those are the two hearing aids you’ve owned personally or something else?
Just the sort of information I’m looking for. One problem: Apple App store shows nothing available when I search for Noah or Noahlink ? Where did you find and download?
Thanks for your help.
Which Widex do you have?
I have a pair of Phonak Paradise P70-UP aids as well as Naida V90-SP aids. I plan to buy the Xceeds soon. Noahlink Wireless is an programming device you can find in eBay. You need the Target fitting software to work with the programming device. If you’re looking for the Phonak app, it’s the myphonak.
I have the newest Widex. The moment Sheer
Hi @kcsummerkc, you have to search for Noahlink Wireless… I hope this helps, cheers Kev
Then you need a higher power receiver probably
Receivers in BTE Aids can’t be changed like RIC Aids.
Phonak is terrible and the automated features extremely annoying
lol the tubes can be changed to a strong one
@Zebras the tubes can be changed to stronger ones
I don’t know much about Bootcamp, but if you are curious about wanting to install another OS consider https://www.virtualbox.org/. It’s free and not super demanding of the hardware, I’ve used it under Windows and Linux for at least 10+ years, and I’ve had students who have installed this on the Mac so that they could run Windows. It’s an app, so you don’t have to reboot which is another huge plus.
The tubes are just that, are you referring to the wall thickness of the tube? Only the RIC (receiver in the canal) can you change the power level output as @Zebras mentioned.
I have the Phonak M90 Rs. I don’t know if “Autosense” is something built into the HAs themselves, but I don’t even bother with the app anymore. As far as my audiologist goes, for the past few years I’ve been working with a Hearing Instrument Specialist. But recently, when I went to get some new wax guards, I discovered that Premier Hearing is now Hear USA. I don’t know if my HIS is even working there anymore.
They won’t make much different and it’ll depend on how big the hole is for the tubing in the ear mould in the first place.
Thank you so kindly.
