Thank you that’s worth checking into!
Quick question on Autosense.
I’ve just reprogrammed my back-up aids (Marvel M70), and generally speech recognition has improved. I’ve added Music & Speech in Noise as additional programmes. I was hoping to have Music as my default programme, and put Autosense as an additional. I can’t find a way of doing it. I can set Music as Automatic, but the option to add Autosense isn’t there.
Any ideas?
I could do it on my old Phonak Aids. I’ll be back home in around 2 hours and I can talk you through it if no one helps before then. I’m sure they haven’t taken away that feature but it’s was complicated as to how to do it.
I couldn’t get back on this forum yesterday, sorry.
I regularly can’t get on as it always says can’t connect to their server and has done for years.
I’ll help you during day time.
Open program manager
And unselect access, it’ll then allowed to to select the what program you want on start up.
Thank you @Zebras . Yes, I’ve managed to do that, but can’t set Autosense as an additional programme.
I won’t need it soon anyway, once I’ve decided which additional programmes I prefer
Oh I could. I’m nearly home so I’ll see if I can figure that out on the newer technology, Altho it could be the software that has stopped it.
I’ll have another go
You just select access button again but you’ll see the startup button stays as music.
@e1405 Sorry, I’m super new to HAs and just got my Phonak L 70-R two days ago and trying to fiddle with the Android app. Frustrated because I can’t change the default startup program - it sounds as if there’s a way to do this yourself? Or settings won’t stick. I have a Windows 10 PC and consider myself quite computer savvy.
If this is possible, e.g., changing the startup program etc, is there a link or site that describes how to do this? I’m assuming some additional hardware for programming/interfacing with the the HA might be required?
You can’t make permanent changes in the App. You can, however, make changes to individual presets and save them as a new one, but I wouldn’t rely on them, as I understand, that they are deleted next time your Audiologist connects.
I’d book a visit, after you’ve made notes, to change the default to what you want. Remember, however, that your default is Autosense 5, which will be switching programmes like “Speech in Noise” and “Calm Situation” continually. If you don’t like that, your audiologist can make a fixed programme default (eg Music).
Yes sure can, all you need is the Phonak target software and Noahlink wireless programming device, read the user guide as well as it’s very helpful for setting up the first time, it’s all super easy to use and as you say your “quite computer savvy” you’ll have no problem.
Oh, ok, that’s good to know. I prefer Calm as the startup program. Thank you for sharing, I will take notes and have my audiologist make the necessary changes next time I see her.
Thanks! I did a bit of googling, and it looks like the Noahlink device is available on Amazon and ebay, where would you find the specific software for the HAs? I’m assuming they are probably somewhat device specific and proprietary, so I’m wondering how to find this if I decided to go this route.
Having said that, I’m not in a rush (I think … ) … I’ll explore what settings I have for now and see if I can get some things set up with what I already have. I’ll probably be posting some questions on the forum once I have a list of things that bug me and I can’t fix
Noahlink Wireless for yours
It is already.
Within Automatic/AutoSense, you’ll start with Calm and you’ll have Speech in noise, comfort in noise and music.
All this is dependant on the environment, so it could be in calm for a very short time and then as it detects other sounds it changes to whatever it think fits, if you want calm and to stay in calm you’d need to change that in target program manager, you just create a linked program (say “calm” in your case)
Yes, search for the DIY section of this forum.
I wear Phonak L90 and I love the autosense program and my hearing aids are programmed to start in the calm program for the most part I don’t even know when my hearing aids are adjusting or changing. I am also a provider and none of my patients complain about the autosense and I always have the hearing aids start in the calm program when they put them on.
Just to clarify, you can have the auto program start in the calm mode and then switch as needed, or is it starting the separate calm program (as if I could select that program from the top of the app)? If the former, I may ask my provider to switch it to that too.
