Found the right model of Li-polymer battery for Roger On at Ali Express website. Those who are interested can buy them directly & DIY to change the battery. Typed 471736 Li Polymer and search at the Ali-Express website.
Thank you. I’ll give it a try, because despite not obvious problem with the switch my Roger On V1 no-In discharges pretty quickly when unused (about ~50% after last full charge 1-1.5 month ago).
@danka, great info; I am considering buying it.
Maybe check with @CombatWombat on the type of plug head used. CombatWombat photo is 3 wires. Above photo is 2 wires. Chat with supplier and send them photos to confirm.
Needs three wires. I tried splicing three wire to wires in existing plug, but too small a job for old hands. Would be great if we could find and order with a three wire plug.
Black, yellow and red cable, indeed.
There are many manufacturers in China. The company name mentioned Roger li-polymer (Lipo) battery looks like a trading company in Hong Kong ( I might be wrong). The code on the Roger Lipo is 471736 is the measurement of the Lipo battery. For example - 5/20/30mm (HWL) - 052030 code. So 471736 should be 4.7mm (Height) x 17mm width & 36 mm length. Capacity is 260mAh and a voltage of 3.7V. Have to spend sometimes to search for 3 wires and a similar plug head.
A electronic mobile phone shop might be able to get it change for a fee should the plug head is wrong.
Keep searching on Ali Express.
Take note of the battery space and thickness of the LiPo battery. Sometimes the measurement takes into the account of the plastics. When the plastics is folded tightly, the LiPo battery fits exactly into the space. Take not of the thickness - 4.7mm versus 6.o mm (roughly 1mm thicker. If there is nothing on the cover poking at the battery, then it should be safe. Important is not to damage the protective plastics cover of the battery.
Good Luck & happy DIY.
Take a photo shot of the connector pin. The 3 wires LiPo battery show on Ali Express is call “JST 3 Pin - 1 mm connector”. If your photo shot is similar, then it is plug and play!
Chat with them before you buy.
Hi CombatWombat, I am from Spain, Thank you very much for the good information. I have tried to dismantle the ROGER ON. I am not able to open it with a TORX T3. is it the right screwdriver?
My old V1 Roger ON needed both TORX T2 & T3 drivers to open. Not sure about newer models.
Try @raylock1 He’s dissembled tons of Rogers.
Good Luck,
David
Thank you very much David. I really appreciate it
Hi Raylock, Good afternoon. My name is Josu from Spain. do you know which tool to use for dismatling ROGER ON? I am not able to open its case/cover with a TORX T3
I used a Torx T3 screwdriver that I got from Amazon on my Roger On IN v1.
Thank you very much Raylock. It is of great help. I really appreciate it
More like three or four. And I was even able to put two or three of them back together again
Just did this. 2 screws closest to the USB port are T3s and the other 4 are T2s. Very tiny. The round part didn’t look that much wider than the rectangular part so I decided not to try to fill it in. I just made sure the switch was lined up and put it back together and now it seems to turn off again. Fingers crossed.
