Hello world! I am from Russia. I purchased a Phonak Naida P70-UP hearing aid. I have deafness in my right ear, so I don’t wear a second hearing aid. In the left ear, there is a 4th degree of hearing loss and this is hereditary. From childhood he wore an ordinary Oticon. When I was 22 years old, my Oticon hearing aid broke down and I had to buy a new hearing aid. I searched for a long time, picked it up. I was advised Oticon Xceed 2 BTE SP. But I didn’t like it in sound, like an android speaker. I asked for another hearing aid and was suggested to try the Phonak Naida P50-UP and I fell in love. Unfortunately, the P50-UP didn’t work because I needed to purchase 2 hearing aids. So I took the Phonak Naida P70-UP in one ear without the other hearing aid. Because the P70 has 360° speech. And a lot of cool features. The sound is soft, pleasant and bassic. I’m with you!
I used to wear the Phonak Naida P70 UP and loved it until I tried Oticon Xceed 1 UP.
Glad you’re loving the Phonak tho. Our ears are all different.
Please tell us how the Oticon Xceed 1 UP turned out to be better in the end? Thank you
Until I lost my remaining hearing, I could hear more with the Xceed over the P70 Nadia.
I felt deaf with Phonak and felt hearing with Oticon.
Understood, thank you for your answer! I have a question about the Phonak Naida P70-UP. Tell me, have you ever had such a sound when you say loud vowels, such as: “ahh”, “oooh”, as if you are talking in unison or shouting against a fan that blows in your face?
To my knowledge, 360° sound requires bilateral hearing aids. I know this because I am deaf in my left ear (CI) and don’t have access to that program and Speech in LOUD Noise.
This is sad news… Apparently, my audiologist does not understand this well and did not explain it to me. As for Speech in LOUD Noise, I thought that there is no such function and it is in the Phonak Naida P-90UP. Except for speech in noise.
Thank you for your answer!
It is manual in the P70 and automatic in the P90 but it is there.
How to do it? My audiologist said that there was no such program, only speech in noise. Is there any way it can be enabled in the myPhonak app?
P70s have “Speech in loud noise” available, It just isn’t part of the P70s Autosense. It can only be added as an additional programme.
The attached is from my M70s, but P70s will also have this.
Peter
This was done through Phonak Target, and for this you need a Noahlink Wireless programmer. Is it worth the risk?
Of course, check the DIY section of the forum.
Hi Peter! I ordered the programmer and it was delivered to me in just a couple of days back. Anyway, I installed it Target version 10. But, as it turned out, I did not find in the list of adding an additional program “Speech in loud noise”. It simply does not exist.
The list only includes “Quiet Situation”, “Speech in Noise”, “Comfort in Noise”, “Mask”, “Acoustic Phone” and streaming.
Now that is strange. I know it isn’t a program included in Autosense, but it should be there as an additional option (as in the picture above).
It doesn’t matter. Tell me, is it possible to update autosense to version 5.0? And how to update the firmware of the hearing aid? I heard about the new version. Sincerely!
You cannot “update” AutoSence, it’s built in to whatever model and version of target being used, firmware can be done through target if available, just connect your HAs and target will let you if there’s one to flash.
Sounds like you have the Phonak Naida P50 UP rather then the P70.
Why? The information about the hearing aid clearly states that it is P70-UP
Have you got a screenshot of the target settings, because @Zebras has mentioned P50 because you don’t have what the P70 should have, possibly a mix up?
