Phonak Audéo Sphere

Can confirm warranty goes with aids, I’ve had batteries replaced in aids I’ve bought on eBay under warranty by Phonak

BUT, if they were reported lost/stolen, no warranty will be honored.

I believe we shall see the most magnificent changes in hearing aids due to growth.

I know we are seeing incredible marketing. Look how active this thread is!

I hope that future hearing aids will meet our expectations. Good enough isn’t good enough. We need genius.

I just met with an audiologist, who I liked a lot, and his Zip Hearing price sheet shows $600 less for a pair of 70 Spheres. I wonder how significant the difference between the Sphere 70 and 90 is for a retired, and retiring guy, who doesn’t go to noisy places…

not by tpapping but you can have your Audiologist add a Sphere only program that you can activate in the Phonak app. Would be nice to have user access to the info which program is currently activated in automatic mode. Not sure why not, it is being logged in the aid.

As has been discussed, it is available in the app. I’ll go through it on more time.

Go to the home tab in MyPhonak. Note “adjust program” button at the bottom. Hit that.

Your current program is displayed at the top.

Hope this helps.

Apologies if this has been answered earlier. I am currently trialling a pair of Phonak Audéo Sphere I70’s. Long time HA wearer (since 2003) and I’m really happy after the first week of wearing these. In the MyPhonak app on my iPhone, under My hearing aids, I see this:

Model left: Audéo I70 Sphere
Model right: Audéo I70 Sphere

My questions:

  1. Are these the Infinio series platform with the additional DeepSonic chip?
  2. If yes, do my I70 (Advanced) model have limitations when compared to the I90 (Premium) model? If so, what are they?
  3. Is there an actual line of aids called Audéo Sphere and another called Audéo Sphere Infinio?

The naming structure is extremely confusing (at least to me). I’ve researched online and on the Phonak site and I know there are differences between the I70 and I90, but with no confirmation on exactly what pair I am trialling, I cannot determine what features I have and/or don’t have. My audiologist did not provide me with the original HA box, just the charger box, so I don’t have it to check. I meet with him next week but would like more information before I see him again.

I found this blurb while googling:
The key difference between a Phonak Audeo Sphere and an Audeo Sphere Infinio is that the Infinio model incorporates an additional dedicated AI chip called “DeepSonic” which significantly enhances speech clarity in noisy environments, making it the premium option with more advanced sound processing capabilities compared to the standard Sphere model; both are part of the Phonak Infinio line, but the Sphere Infinio offers superior AI-powered features for better speech understanding in complex soundscapes.

The above states that there is a “standard” Sphere model but I couldn’t find any mention of that on the Phonak site.

Any clarification will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes,
The I70 Sphere provides speech clarity of “Moderate” while the I90 provides speech clarity of “Strong”. I don’t have a feeling of the difference between “Moderate” and “Strong.” The I90 has a Speech Enhancer which provides a boost to soft speech in the calm setting which the I70 does not. Otherwise I think they are the same.
Yes, the Audeo Sphere Infinio has an additional chip called the DeepSonic for noise reduction and a bigger battery than the Audio Infino R

Thank you @raylock1. This is great information and makes things clearer.

From your third answer, I assume “Audio Infinio R” means there is also another line of products that does not include the word “Sphere?”

That is correct. The Audio Infinio R does not have the Sphere chip.

I asked my dispensing audi countless times, “what features do my audeo Paradise P90R’s have, the way you’ve set them up?”
He never answered.
We don’t talk anymore; the man I see now has provided two reports.

  • Target User’s Report, and
  • Pro User’s Report

It shows me the features and programs chosen. It shows me his settings.

I don’t have your hearing aids. I have audeo Paradise P90R’s that are 3 years old.

I’m curious how well the Sphere hearing aids would perform on an airplane, especially with the pilots speaking over the loudspeakers. Has anyone tested them in that environment?

@gsl , JordanK will be in airplane and he want decribe hisnexperiences later.

I flew down to Dallas on Sunday afternoon and the Sphere’s performed flawlessly in both the airport and on the plane. I could actually hear all the announcements at the gate and in flight. They also were outstanding at a number of business lunches and dinners in very noisy restaurants. Only issue I ran into was when I had both a business lunch and dinner on the same day yesterday. Lunch was perfect. I then went to dinner later in the day. Halfway through dinner I started having issues understanding people. I checked the app and the hearing aids were no longer in the Sphere program even though the batteries were still at 40%. I then realized that between lunch and dinner I had exceeded the 3 hour daily Sphere use and AutoSense was no longer using the Spheric AI program. Luckily, I remembered that my audiologist had turned off this limit on the manual Sphere AI program and I was still able to manually switch to the Sphere program. Would be nice to get some kind of notification from the App when this happens.

This is one of my main concerns with the Sphere.
“What happens when you have a long loud day or have a long flight (12+ hours)? Does it stop working? Can you override it and get back into the Spheric program? Will it last until the end of the day?”

Two workcases to recon with. Battery saving is or is not programmed. And that’s why I would recommend to make such a program yourself or have it made. (I explained HowTo elswhere).

Full loaded after about 5-6 hours the batteries run out of energy and you’ll get the sound of almost empty battery when programmed. But you’ll probably not hear it because of the loud sounds. So the aids stop working then. If the time limit was set they first go back to the latest program you used and you’ll hear the warning sound if set. (At about 10% battery left, so you still have about an hour).

If you want to use your aids a whole day you have to bring your charger and reload in about 1/4 to 1\2 an hour some extra fuel. Without reloading you’re always stuck after 6 hours.

These are my experiences and work arounds in visiting loud places. I use the restaurant mode if I don’t have to listen and speak to someone, which consumes less energy and works a whole day. Then now and than go to Spheric in noise in between.

At the VA for a hearing test, I recently learned that Phonak will today launch a new top of the line HA. The audiologist said she would delay my order until today to make sure I get the latest improved HA. I am scheduled to get it on 11-8. All the tech features discussed on this thread are not very important to me. I’m just looking forward to getting the best hearing improvements available.

Thanks for the answer. Haven’t been able to try this since i was between demos and my own. Got my own now and checked this a few times. Never seen a change in what it says there. Tried loud Music, car, restaurant. Always says Adjust Calm Situation ( Automatic)? You see this changing and reflect what the auto sense selects?

When you change the acoustic environment, go out back from “Adjust program” screen to main screen and the n tap again “Adjust program” button.
