Oticon MORE firmware 1.4.0 - BT issues with iOS 16

I mute my hearing aids microphones when using the TV adapter, it wouldn’t do to mute the TV itself due to my wife hearing the TV. I have several connect clips, but don’t use them much due to not working and the fact I have trimmed my devices down to only IOS devices.

Good info about updating the firmware for the TV Adapter. I ordered mine thru the audi directly from Oticon, so I’ll assume it has the latest version. At some point I’ll haul it in and have it checked.
I’m addicted to using my Apple watch to control the HA mode, so can’t ditch the Oticon app.

I’ve had warranty replacement OPN aids from Oticon (at least they had different serial numbers) arrive with out-of-date firmware that my provider had to update before restoring the setup. I wouldn’t be totally confident about devices having the latest firmware without having your provider verify it  .

I’ve been surprised enough times at work with new, high-end, lab equipment that shipped with old firmware and/or software that I tend to be a bit cautious (and maybe cynical) …

It all depends on what they have in stock. It they are new they seem to just pack them up and ship them. I have seen my audiologist have a ‘set of aids’ that each had a different firmware update in them.
I am sure the stock person only knows to fill the order and ship. If the packaging is still sealed they don’t open it.

It may depend on when it was packaged?

I ordered a new iPhone last week, it didn’t have iOS 16 on it. It was completely sealed in packaging.

I’m well aware equipment is often shipped with downlevel fw. AFAIK I have no choice but to “assume” it’s latest level, since I can’t check it without a trip to the audi.

The issue is unless the audiologist requests that the aids are pre checked, if the packaging has the seals broken then they can’t be sold as new.

They can be checked in the App for most brands, Oticon don’t do this?

For what its worth, from Genie 2 2022.2 the latest firmware i can see is;

ConnectClip 1.13.0
TV Adapter 2.1.1

One of my TV Adapters (I have two) apparently is newer (based on the serial number) and the latest firmware listed is 2.1.4 but Genie does not recognize an update to the old one to this other version so the models are probably different. They are both TV Adapter 3.0.

The release notes listed the proverbial “General stability improvements and minor bug fixes”

Again, I’m “assuming” I have the newer version of the TV Adapter, SN (21)8549007. How does that compare to your two units?

Your’s its much newer than mine. The one showing firmware 2.1.4 serial number is 4087xxx. The older one showing firmware 2.1.1 is 3013xxx.

My connections clips are the correct firmware I don’t know about my TT adapter

Exactly my point, nothing I would say ( that you could notice anyway)
Good advice for anyone, Don’t Update Firmware unless you need to, so many people on the forum right now complaining about how they updated the firmware on their respective devices and now it no longer works as it should/or did.

The Oticon ON app can display the firmware level of the aids but not of the accessories like the TV adapter.

Oh ok, thanks for clarifying this.

For those still experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issues with iOS 16:

I have been emailing with Oticon support who believe it may be an issue with interference from other iOS devices using the same Apple ID. They are recommending pairing hearing aids with only a single device and toggling off Auto Handoff and Control Other devices.

Not ideal, but worth a shot

Oh… im giving this a try… fingers crossed…

Thank you sir !!!

I have my aids paired to my iPhone and iPad but keep the Bluetooth disabled on the iPad most of the time. I still have issues with the ON app being on my iPhone when using the TV adapter. I also have issue of my right aid unmuting with the ON app on my iPhone. I enjoy listening to the TV more while streaming the TV audio from the TV adapter when I mute the hearing aids microphones. I will say this the connectivity is greatly improved with IOS16 and More firmware 1.3.0. I haven’t updated to firmware 1.4.0

This fix did not work for me. I had two other Apple devices paired to my Mores. Unpaired them, toggled off Auto Handoff and Control Nearby Devices… nope.

It seems like BT connection is released after some time inactive.

That is also what I have been reading on the Oticon user’s Facebook page
