Oticon More and ios 15.4 update

Just received a notification from Oticon that updating to ios 15.4 will cause the More’s to unpair and that any time I reboot my phone I will have to re-pair the aids again. I think I will hold off on updating my phone until they fix the bug.

So far I am not having any issues with the it, but I am not using the ON app.

Ty Jeremy.

I’m rebooting my iPhone to test this now…

Nope. It stayed paired. I have the More 1s. It must not affect every device. :man_shrugging:

@cvkemp Chuck: I am using the ON app.

iPhone 13 Pro Max
iOS 15.4

I have the IPhone 13 mini, and due to the issues with my TV adapter I deleted the on app.

I got the same notice - 2 times. I will not be upgrading to 15.4
My notice said “you may experience your aids will not connect in your app.” And to re-pair as you stated above.
This makes it sound like Mores are still paired to the iPhone, just not to the On App. Or…is the ON app preventing the Mores from connecting to the iPhone?

I’ve always used the accessible hearing on the iPhone.

I’ve never been a fan of the ON app, but use the equalizer when streaming and sometimes on calls. I never used it when OPN1 was my primary aids.

Personally I believe that the problem is with the ON app, and not sure that the app developers even understand what it means to have a hearing loss

Definitely the ON app is the problem, always has been. My sporadic quirk with the TV Adapter/On App not connecting is fixed by putting one aid quickly in the charger.
Need to give credit to Oticon for acknowledging the problem and sending out a notification.

Every time I have complained to the developers about the app they have said it was Apple’s fault. Every time I complained to Apple they say it is Oticon’s fault.

Yet Apple continues to grow and make progress thru upgrades and new features, and the ON App never changes and stays the same.
Oticon is in the business of developing hearing aids for which I am internally grateful. Fortunately they are MFI, so the ON app not working to my satisfaction is a minor irritation to me. The iPhone accessibility works all the time, every time for me.

Wow… I have NEVER gotten a notification from Oticon (assume you got it in the app?) about anything… I have OPN S1 (rechargables) … maybe they only notified MORE users? I really don’t use the app - haven’t deleted it yet … even the iPhone accessibility controls are a bit wonky for me …

With the app on the phone I was having issues anytime I used the TV adapter regardless if I was using the app or not. I deleted the app and my issues stopped

What issues did you have with TV adapter? Was it aids restarting (like mine do?) or aids not connecting to the app or something else … just curious…

Yes, I received the warning in the “notification” section of the app.

wow… other than the “welcome to your notificcations” I got way back when, I haven’t gotten any notices… wonder how they decide? Maybe it’s only the MOREs they care about

My aids would lose connectivity to the iPhone and app and would keep trying to reconnect over and over and was running the batteries down on the aids and the iPhone. No app installed no more real issues

got it… yep, I get that too… I still use the app to mute TV sound - although it’s always a crap shoot as to whether the app is connected …

I can mute from the iPhone control panel just touch the left most speaker icon

Without the app I sure don’t which is fine with me.

Fine, but my issue is more: how come some folks get notifications but I’ve never had one?
