Oticon More and ios 15.4 update

I don’t know maybe location. I was getting notifications when I did use the app, but just found them irritating

Try opening the app, going to settings and looking to see if you have a red badge for Notifications? I don’t push the Oticon App notifications on my phone so I didn’t get an alert. You have to more or less actively seek it out or you’ll miss it if you’re not in the habit of periodically checking.

On App - to get notifications - under settings - toggle on (green) Notifications from us.

Go into notifications in Settings and turn them on for the ON app and you will get notifications.

@JeremyDC : I’ve done that, and I don’t. I don’t really wish to pursue receiving them, either. I just find it strange that there are features of my app that should work, but don’t. That’s one of them.

I’m like Chuck. I’ve given up being interested in the app, except for collecting my usage data.

My error: Go into ON settings and touch the slider to turn on notifications from us.

For those who are curious about how many notifications Oticon sends - since August, I have received the 1st Welcome and the Important info (2 actually on the same day) about the iOS 15.4 issue. In the settings I have low battery toggled on and Notifications from us toggled on.
I am very glad I was notified about the issue before I updated my iPhone.
So unless you toggle on everything, you won’t get constant notifications.

It doesn’t work, Jeremy. I don’t really care. The point is not that I don’t get notifications. It’s that the app is glitchy and buggy, and I think it sucks out loud. YMMV

I updated my iPhone, iPad, watch, and MacBook the first day available as I always do. I am not having any issues and I am even able to have my iPhone and iPad paired to my aids and have the Bluetooth enabled on both at the same time. I don’t have the app and don’t need the app, my only complaint is that apple removed the control of my aids from the watch, but that hasn’t proven to be an issue either.

No, that isn’t the case. You just need to toggle on “Notifications from Us”. I am getting notifications without toggling them all on. I have five since August 17th and only two were deemed “Important Notifications”.

To clarify – yes toggle on Notification from us - I stated that above - to receive the important information from Oticon.

My point is Oticon does not send non stop / numerous notifications - so many to be irritating. ( Maybe they do if more buttons are toggled to green)

Interesting. I am heavily dependent on using the paired BT link with my OPN S1s for telephone calls on my Iphone SE. But I do hope they get this bug worked out soon as I expect to transition to the More unit this fall once I see if they make any software “enhancement” that they bill as new and improved.

Here is my question, if the problem is with the More aids what firmware version is having the issue? My aids are still on version 1.1.1 and I am not seeing the issues but then I haven’t got the app installed.

Good question. I am on the 1.3.0 firmware (the most recent). In the notification they stated that, “you may experience that your hearing aids will not connect in your app.” It sounds like it is just app related. If you do not use the app perhaps you won’t have the problem. No other version numbers other than “newly released iOS 15.4” are mentioned.

Several people say they don’t use the On App but it appears they still stream from the TV Adapter. How do you connect to the Oticon TV Adapter without using the Oticon On App?

Depending on how the buttons on the aids are programmed, you can select the TV Adapter with a button press. Another was is with an iOS device - a triple click of the right button on a current iPhone (or home on older ones) brings up the MFi menu where you can select the source and then set the volume. Similar with an iPad

Like some others, I deleted the ON app so I receive no notifications. No big deal to me. As an apple beta tester I received all of the 15.4 public releases and even when I had the ON app installed not long ago, I never lost pairing with any of the updates, including the public release of 15.4 I am using an Xr to connect with. Obviously someone has had the problem or Oticon wouldn’t feel the need to issue a warning.

I use the control panel on my iPhone to control my aids , programs and volume

Ah, great! Sounds good. Since I also use an XR, I will update ios to 15.4. I am, however, using the ON app, so we will see whether I have to re-pair or not.

I use the app, though I am finding it less and less useful except if I want to mute my aids, since that function isn’t available on the aids themselves.

You can mute the aids from the iPhone control panel by touching the left speaker icon, it will mute the aids, then use the control on the aids to do a simple unmute
