I just dropped over to the Costco website and I noticed that they are now selling the Jabra Enhance Pro 30, not 20. But information on the 30 is very hard to find. Does anyone have information about this newest product?
TIA
The Jabra Enhance Pro 30 is the same product as the ReSound Vivia 9 and incorporates an additional AI chip.
Yep as mentioned, just check out everything on the ReSound Vivia as Jabra are just rebranded version.
Thank you. But damn… those Vivia 9’s are $4298 at ZipHearing, yet the Pro 30 at Costco is $1699. That’s paying a LOT for a brand name.
Yes, all Costco fitted hearing aids are premium hearing aids just rebranded for sale at Costco.
Are they made in the same place as the Vivia’s or are the Jabra 20s and 30s made in China?
One of GN’s world wide manufacturing facilities. They are located in Denmark, China, and Malaysia. To my knowledge, where the Jabra enhance Pro 30 is manufactured is not publically disclosed. I would guess it is the same plants as the Vivia’s since they are the same aid.
from a google search :
AI Overview
ReSound Vivia hearing aids are manufactured by GN, a Danish company, primarily at its manufacturing facilities in Præstø, Denmark and Ballerup, Denmark. GN also has manufacturing facilities in other locations, including the United States and Malaysia, according to a ReSound UK press release.
AI Overview
Jabra Enhance hearing aids, including the Enhance 30 model, are manufactured in China. They are a product of the Denmark-based GN group, which also produces ReSound and Beltone hearing aids.
Interesting Your AI gave you more specific information than chatCPT did for me. Different AI or maybe you did a better job of phrasing the question. And my bad, I neglected to indicate my answer came from AI as was suggested in another thread.
A little further down in the Google search, the AI says that core components are made in Denmark.
FWIW the box my Jabra Pro 20s came in says “Product of Denmark”.
You had your answer all ready, but yeah it wouldn’t matter where they are made, they are exactly the same product, even it they made them in timbuktu!
Manufacturing location can affect price for US buyers.
It can can effect prices all over the world, but once Mr trumpet sorts himself out I’m sure you’ll find not so much for HAs, I haven’t seen a price difference at Costco for a while now.
My understanding is that the price you get from an audiologist’s office reflects the follow up care for the hearing aid. In my experience when I had a Costco hearing aid, it was very hard to get consistent follow-up care at my local Costco. No one answered the phone, impossible to make an appointment, etc. So I’m willing to pay the higher price for the qualified audiologist and consistent follow up care when the hearing aid stops working. Some who buy at Costco say they’d had acceptable experience getting needed care from the Costco staff. Others have complained of rushed, impatient service. It seems to differ location to location. So if you’re going that route, be sure during your trial period that you feel you can rely on the care followup at your location, because you don’t want to get stuck with a nonworking hearing aid. Mileage varies.
All these you point out you can also get from any local clinic, never think because you pay “more” that you somehow get better service, bad apples in every industry unfortunately.
Costco offers great service and warranty as good as any others, it’s unfortunate you had a minor issue with your local store, with Costco you don’t have to pay “extra” for “bundle service” it’s included in the price.
Yep, there was a post a few days ago where someone was complaining about service from their local ENT/audiologist clinic.
So paying more is no guarantee you will get better service. My local Kaiser audiologists are backed up for weeks if you want a hearing test. At least, one can make an appointment online.
Six months to get an appointment at the audiologist clinic in my city. There are two other hearing aid retailers that just have Hearing Instrument Specialists.
Costco is hit-or-miss.
It’s all you need, it’s not rocket science.
My wife and I experience today at our local Costco was very different. We were both getting Jabra Pro 30’s fitted and as I posted in another thread the fitter was very knowledgeable, spent time with us and encouraged us to come back after the two week check up for follow adjustments as needed or call with questions. Getting them on the phone has been OK as well. Most of the time they pick up and a couple times when then didn’t we got call backs.
So yes it does seem to vary by location.
To be honest the fitter at Costco seemed better informed and easier to work with than the local audiologist who wanted to charge us $8000 for Oticon Intent 1’s
Time will tell but so far very happy with the local Costco and initial impressions of the Jabra pro 30’s are also good…
No issues with service from my audi or my Costco fitter. Yes, the Costco fitter is more keyed to getting things done in the alloted time. Less appointments as a result. Appoints are easy to make either way.
For double the price on Vivia’s I might stay with the audi. At 4x…nada.
