Question about Jabra Enhance Pro 30 Hearing Aids

My wife and I had our Jabra Pro 30’s fitted today.

The experience at our local Costco was very good. The fitter seemed knowledgeable and spent time to explain everything clearly. The “fitting” process was

  • He programmed the aids to our Audiograms
  • I asked which programs he would set up. He normally sets up All-Around, Hear in Noise and Outdoor at a first fitting. I asked if he could add Music and he said no problem so we got all four.
  • He did some REM tests (7 foreign languages at once?) and tweaks and iterations for both of us.
  • He took us through the features of the aids, the charger and app (showing us how to adjust in accessibility on the iPhone control panel and in the app)
  • Got Bluetooth connected and he explained the settings he would recommend for Bluetooth
  • Set up an appointment for two week to check how we are doing and make any tweaks.

For the music program he said he could adjust that later to suit our listening. He says he has musician clients and spends time setting their aids up to suit their instrument. He also encouraged us to come back after the two week appointment as needed for tweaks / questions etc.

All in all we were very impressed with the Costco experience.

For the hearing aids.

  • My wife has never worn any kind of hearing aid before so she is finding them a bit overwhelming but we are saying give it a few weeks for your brain to adjust
  • I have been wearing OTC aids (Eargo 7 / Airpod Pro’s) so the change is not so abrupt for me.

I will give it a few days before commenting too much on the various programs but so far the aids sound pretty good and at least my wife and I haven’t been saying what, eh etc to each other since the fitting!

While I was typing this my wife called me the aids worked perfectly for a the call. Sound was great for both of us!
