This is really interesting
I saw this review a few months ago.
Some good comments below on the YouTube channel.
I do prefer Emma to Dr. Cliff.
8/20 is my fitting date.
I prefer Emma to Dr. Cliff as well. I really don’t like Dr. Cliff’s go-go-go style. He sounds more like a pushy salesman than a sincere audiologist.
@Volusiano: I find him hard to watch because of that, and also because he’s got Size 7 teeth in a Size 5 mouth. Can’t help that, but , combined with his style of delivery:
[I’m always waiting for an explosion, accompanied by a shower of tooth and bone fragments from the high pressure air.]
Emma sounds like she’s selling hygiene products, IMO.
She is selling hygiene products, my spud sprouting friend:
So there!
In a very broad sense of the definition, to be sure.
I find her delivery to be very personable, and easy to comprehend, as opposed to Cliff.
Her modulation, and tone are to be commended.
I agree with you, Flash
… however, if the shoe fits! (Anyway, you should know by now what a
I can be, betimes.)
I am depending less and less on the TV adapter for watching TV, I am finding that the MoreSoundBoost gives me the little extra focus that I need most of the time.
I am also enjoying being able to take a drive with the windows down without worrying about excessive wind noise.
I have even found that I don’t have to mute my aids while riding around on my Vespa. I do wear a helmet and have no feedback issues.
I am listening to audiobooks more by way of direct streaming between my iPhone and aids, but by the way of the connect clip and audio da when streaming from the iPad or MacBook. Yes I know the aids can pair to the iPad also but I don’t want to deal with the fighting that two IOS devices have with the aids.
Ok, after a week with my new more 2 ha’s i am sadly very dissapointed. I feel like i hear the same as opn s or worse i had before i upgrade to more platform. I can hardly understand what people tell to me added that they always wear a face mask that cover their mouth. Interestingly compared to the more 3 i had for evaluation for 10 days before deciding to buy the more 2 it is very depressing… I thought i would hear better but it is worse, not sure if it is programming settings related but with the more 3 i was very shocked how good i can hear and understand everyone as i stated before in this topic. I’m not sure what i can do with those but i am sure for 1 thing, i will go to the audi and it will be very interesting… I hope he can fit the program he used on more 3 evaluating ha’s to my more 2 ha’s and see how it goes. If it still the same i will try to send the ha’s back and ask either for a refund or “downgrade” to more 3 model. I don’t know… Just my experience.
@dimitrispap: I’ve just read all your posts going back to last July. You’re not having very much much getting your aids to work for you, it seems.
Who is fitting them for you? Have you had a real REM fitting? If no, I think it’s hardly fair to blame your devices.
Could you please provide more information about this? With what we’re going on now, it’s hard to figure out what is at the root of your problems. Also, posting your audiogram would help greatly.
There is an Oticon distributor at my town and there is where they fit my hearing aids. Yeah i believe it is just bad work on audi’s side, i can hardly believe that the ha’s are bad because i already have tried the more 3 for 10 days and i was very happy at the time. No i have not done real REM fitting as far as i know? I think the audi just measured my hearing loss and set the ha’s according the graphs of the left and right ears hearing loss. I don’t think they have the device for rem fitting at all… Yeah i forgot to post my audiogram, here it is.
edit: just recieved my wireless noahlink device yesterday but i will not touch anything yet before they do proper fitting.
Do you have domes are ear molds, from what I can tell you need ear molds. And a REM test is extremely important and should be the first test done when you put the aids on the first time. I hear so much better with the More1 aids, but I struggle to hear some that wear mask, but still better than before the More1 aids.
I am also wondering if you would benefit from frequency lowering.
Yeah i have custom earmolds 105 db’s and have 2 sets for the moment one goes bad after couple months for spare. Then i will demand them to do an rem fit on me if it is so important for sure! Frequency lowering u mean as speech rescue? it is already activated on the program i see if you mean that. Thing is that i could hear so much better with the evaluating hearing aids and those i wear are nowhere near the performance of those ha’s, i will tell this to the audi, i suspect is a program fitting issue hopefully.
It’s almost impossible to be happy with the More 3 then not just as happy or happier with the More 2, unless:
-
The More 2 has some manufacturing issue that causes them to underperform in the gain, and REM is not done to detect and correct for this.
-
If REM is not done and your HCP does not have the equipment to do REM, I would ask for a different pair of More 2 to see if you may get luckier with the second pair that can perform on par with expectation in the gain department.
-
At the minimum, ask your HCP to do an in-situ audiometry test for you using Genie 2 to see how well the in-situ audiogram compares to the original audiogram that was input into Genie 2. If they’re off by a bit, especially if the in-situ result shows that your hearing loss is worse than what the original audiogram says, have them re-prescribe to the in-situ audiogram result instead to see if this improves the performance of the More 2 for you or not.
-
There may be other parameters that were set differently on the More 3 that are not set the same on the More 2. The HCP needs to review the settings very carefully and ensure that there are no differences between them.
-
Look at the Fine Tuning -> Gain Controls section between the More 2 and the More 3 to see if they’re close enough in values at least.
-
Also, make sure that the proper fitting settings are selected for the More 2 as they were set in the More 3 -> custom molds with 105 dB receivers and the appropriate vent size.
You have severe to profound hearing loss, so try the Oticon Xceed SP instead of More. Maybe Opn and More are too weak for your higher frequencies
I was very happy with how i was hearing when i was evaluating the more 3, thats why i decided to go to more 2 thinking that they are a level step above more 3. The problem is that my ha’s are not performing like the evaluating ha’s and i was expecting them to perform even better.
I am wondering if the adjustments are correct. When I went from the OPNS1 to the More1, my Audiologist transferred the settings over then made a few environmental adjustments. And I haven’t seen a need for more adjustments.
@dimitrispap This could very well be what is needed, if your AuD does not have REM equipment.
Actually take what @Volusiano posted with you, as he covered all the bases quite thoroughly.
Did the More 3 demo’s have Speech Rescue enabled?
That could cause some dramatic differences as well.
This is a good starting point in Genie 2:
Is speech rescue something optional, something that the Audi has to enable??? Is there anything else on the More that the Audi has to be prompted to engage? How about Soft Speech Booster? (I know about Neural Noise Suppression, thanks for that.)
Yes the rescue, and soft speech are optional. So are different environmental level settings.
