I want to inquire whether the premium hearing aids offering binaural functionality and features are any use to us folks with one functional ear that too with severe to profound hearing loss

For me there is almost nothing useful from that features. It’s binaural streaming, but I wouldn’t use it.

So, for me, as Cochlear CI user, the best choice was Audeo Infinio Sphere 90.

The only real bimodal solutions is offered by Advanced Bionics with Naida Link. However, it’s IIRC 2018 technology, quite old…

Not really. I am asymmetrical and Sphere is the only HA that can use unilateral AI. Oticon Intents, Starkey Edge AI and Resound Vivia seem to require binaural fitting to achieve the full potential of their DNNs. For me Phonak Sphere it’s probably the only option.

For me, patient with only one hearing ear (CI in the second, poorer ear). Sphere has many positives: Its AI works not only unilateral, but also could work with only one microphone (but Infinio Sphere has 2 mics, for better efficiency).
