Hello everyone, some of you may know that i had a problem with a couple of has and my audi changed it for a new pair, so far so good til it wasn’t because the same problem returned.
So i was wondering if any of u guys may know or have information specifically related to something like a emf interference that causes the hearing aid to mute while is still ! ON, and the only solution is to put it in the charger wait 10 minutes and is back to functioning again.
But the thing is what will happen when i dont have the charger and I’m out of my house lol so i cannot live like this forever, so any hints, experience or info is appreciated, thank you all
Interference is a short range problem.
The farther you are from the source, the less likely the interference will occur.
I don’t recall reading about Electro Magnetic Field problems in hearing aids.
I used to get EMF interference in my aids decades ago when:
Somebody turned on a cell phone in my area
I passed between the security barriers that detect if somebody is leaving a store without paying for their merchandise.
This interference would cause a loud buzzing in my aids. My understanding is this interference was stopped by manufacturers of these devices working together.
What you are describing doesn’t sound like EMF interference.

high/medium voltage power lines
With the exception of high/medium voltage power lines (which are many thousands of volts)the other problems are Radio Frequency Interference.
Electro Magnetic Field problems are rare.
Most Radio Frequency Interference are location specific.
You don’t say exactly how long before the problem re-appeared?
Did they replace both the speaker and the instruments?
Does the problem affect both HAs ?
Hard to believe it is interference, if you are out and about !
We have to examine what has remained constant.
How long once rebooted, before problem occurs again?
If rebooted in same place as it was when it stopped working, how long it works.
You said it requires placement onto charger. I assumed that was just to cycle power.
But how long do you need to leave it on charger, before removal.
Perhaps they replaced units but the battery is the same. and that is what is fading.
I SERIOUSLY question how EMF could be causing this. We are missing something. I am not an AuD. not a dispenser. But generally good with gear.
Yes they’re connected to my phone most of the time like a lot cuz is really good and easy for me for my work, and then my computer through a streamline mic
I know but according to a lot of audis here they say that some sort of emf could be causing this but i know i don’t have nothing like that so i don’t know what to do
They replaced the whole pair of hearing aids and now the problem is back on the right hearing aid so far .
What remains constant is that i use a lot Bluetooth that is the only thing.
Really random the time once i reboot the ha if could be a day a week or even a month til the thing occurs again.
If i reboot it in the same place it keeps working fine for a long time but i don’t know what is causing this.
No is no lt to cycle power because the ha still have power and is ON!! Just not hearing anything until i place it in the charger and wait 10 min more or less
I don’t know my friend but is the last thing they’re suggesting to me because they don’t know either what is happening, so they told me that. Yes please i need all of your tips help or experience cuz im going crazy with this.
Yep, it can be off or on other devices and still goes mute, it happened to me once in the street my ha mute but it was still on, came to my house place it in the charger and then is working again, but when i dont have a charger it can be hours muted while still on.
Yes i have tried that to no avail nothing happens.
Not sure if this is the same problem you are having but my HAs kept muting at random times and I finally figured it out. I have Phonak Marvel and V. The Auto Sense program mutes the audio while it switches from one program to another. This sometimes takes up to ten seconds. I stopped using the Auto Sense and no more muted audio.
We’ve discussed things that can cause interference a few times here in the last few years. BT is in the same band as Wi-Fi and a thousand other things. No license is required. A microwave oven will really womp on that band. You can try to eliminate possible sources of interference one at a time to see what prevents it from happening but if you go a week between occurrences, that will become very difficult. Living without important devices for a long time can be tough, especially if you don’t have the cooperation of others. If you have this happening in an office environment, it may be impossible.
Just to clarify, the complaint is that the Hearing aid mutes.
Not that the BT mute or disconnects.
But that the hearing aid mics themselves mute.
That is what I understood you to be saying.
In addition… you just said that turning off the hearing aids, without placing them on charge, does not in fact turn them off, that they still have power. I don’t understand THAT! That sounds like operator error. If it is off, then it is off. If it is not off, then you cannot say you turned it off. Maybe you lowered the volume, or changed modes, but you did not reboot the hearing aid by turning it off and then on again, which you should be able to do without a charger.
Yeah is like that it mutes randomly, although i don’t have phonaks so I’m not sure i can deactivate that equivalent of that program to try and see if it’s that the cause of this problem
