Does Phonak AutoSense OS 3.0 work for you?

I contacted Phonak more than 6 months ago about an Autosense problem. On my android phone any activity causes my Marvels to revert to Autosense. Send/receive a msg or phone call, use a tracking program like G Maps or Mapmy Walk, and your custom programs go away; back to Autosense.
Phonak replied that they were working on the problem.

I have had Phonak Virto M90-312 hearing aids in both ears for about 5 months. At first, Autosense 3.0 was the only program they had. The Autosense was driving me crazy.
I went back to my provider and complained about constant feedback. The worst of the feedback came when I was anywhere near water running. Every day this occurred in the kitchen, the bathroom, and outdoors near a fountain or a stream. My provider assured me that there was NO feedback because these Phonak hearing aids were the latest and the greatest. She also said there were no other programs and that I should be happy I have Autosense which does everything for me.
I realized that she really didnā€™t know much about the hearing aids she had sold me and that I needed to do my own research in order to be my best advocate. Of course, I learned that there are additional programs that could be added and I decided that Music would probably be best for me.
I went back to her and explained what I needed her to do. She didnā€™t know how to do it and contacted Phonak for help. Once the Music program was added to my hearing aids, everything was better.
Now I can be in the kitchen, the bathroom and near water without any feedback problem at all. My problem was the Autosense 3.0. The hearing aids still turn on to Autosense but a quick switch to Music makes everything wonderful. I would go back to the provider to ask her to make Music the first program but I fear that she would have no idea how to do that.

Is there a way that I, as a consumer, could download and use Target software? That would help me with the order of programs on my hearing aids.

You would need a Noahlink Wireless as well as the Target software.

Check diy section of the forum here, thatā€™ll help a lot.

And yes, itā€™s possible to put any program as first one.

Unfortunately yes, she has no clue nor desire to help you, she was only interested in selling

Thanks for the reply. I knew it was too good to be true.

You can get a Noahlink for about $175 on ebay so it is by no means out of the question to DIY.

It does take a certain attitude and level of confidence though. Itā€™s more for somebody who enjoys figuring things out rather than being told what to do.

Iā€™m glad I found this thread, as I can identify with a lot of issues mentioned.

I purchased Phonak Audeo Marvel 70s in November 2019. I initially suffered a sudden hearing loss in January 2019. I sought treatment but nothing worked.

Iā€™m not quite sure I understand how Auto Sense 3.0 is supposed to work, and Iā€™m not sure if thatā€™s really quite important. I struggle badly in the most common of situations

  1. Trying to hear the cashier in a supermarket with natural background noise and music on the PA

  2. Trying to hear the waitstaff in a restaurant with background noise

  3. Clarity of television and music

I have come to accept, especially after face to face conversations with other Phonak users, that music and audio in general will never sound the same due to the damage of hearing loss. Despite adjusting the tones in the Phonak app, all audio sounds like itā€™s coming from a tin can.

Iā€™ve not visited my audiologist in a year due to the pandemic, however we have had several over the Internet sessions and he has made adjustments to the HAs, however I am still struggling.

I do have several programs built into the app, restaurants, music concerts - Iā€™ve tried everything in the situations I have trouble, but nothing really helps

I recently changed the BT setting in my Samsung phone to connect HAā€™s for calls only. Iā€™ve had the phone and HAā€™s connected 24/7 for calls and audio, which allowed me to hear notification alerts directly to the HAs. Iā€™m not sure if having calls & audio connected all the time effected the performance of Auto Sense, time will tell.

Whenever I want to change programs in the Phonak app, I find it annoying that it takes so long to for the app/HAs to connect. Phonak tells me this is due to the type of BT that the Phonak app uses, I think they can do better.
