Would I benefit feom hearing aids?

Hi. I have just had nother hearing test and my hearing has declined a little feom last year. Hearing aids have been suggested to help.

I tried the GN ReSpund Nexia 9 while i was there and they seemed good. Ove come home with a trial pair of Phonak Audeo L30/I30 and am hearing a lot of rustling. Ive only been testing them for a few hours, sp not sure if ill get used to it. Do they all do this?

Based on my resulta, do you thinknits worth me investing in hearing aids?

Do you have issues hearing in your lifestyle?
If you don’t you don’t need hearing aids.
On the other hand if you are having problems hearing people when you are out and about, hearing aids might help.

Well according to your audiogram you don’t need an hearing aid so disparately, but still it you are hearing from others that you are missing out some information or you loss connection while conversation with friends and family then you might go for an hearing aid, as you are suffering from mild hearing loss you don’t have to pay for hearing aids that assist severe or pro found hearing loss .

If you are married, then do you have difficulty understanding your wife’s speech. All married men have difficulty understanding their spouses. My wife became tired of me telling her to speak up, or to stop mumbling. Also, she told me I was turning the TV volume up too high. Woman have softer and higher frequency voices. My hearing aid specialist at Costco told me that many older men make hearing test appointments because their wives encouraged them.

Now that I wear my hearing aids all day, she no longe mumbles, she can speak to me in a normal volume, and I actually tell her to turn down the TV volume. The biggest improvement is understanding her in noisy environments such as restaurants. If you don’t have a wife, you may substitute any woman at your work or friends to substitute as a female voice.

Before there’s any more comments on this, people need to try to understand the differences between a reverse slope loss the KIND OF LOSS WE USUALLY SEE ON HERE.

Also: most hearing aids and fitting formulas AREN’T designed to fit this kind of situation either, so most of the general advice on here is moot as well.

The OP basically has their own noise filter built-in. Sharp speech is well understood, while lower pitched, low intensity voices aren’t so audible: which is practically the opposite of most of the hearing losses on here.

To answer the question: yes there are advantages in wearing aids if you bin the fitting formula, create the right level of occlusion and basically turn the aid off above 2KHz to sort the cracking.
