Flyboybob
Hi, my name is Bob and I have been a flight instructor for 50 years. The last 35 I have been giving training to professional pilots in full flight simulators. Unfortunately, during most of my career I didn’t wear hearing protection. In those days the only thing available was small yellow foam things that you stuck in your ear canal. I didn’t like them because I found myself yelling at my students. Today, flight instructors and their students wear noise canceling inter-phones.
For a while my better half became harder to hear and she claimed I was turning the TV volume too loud. I went to Costco about a year ago and had a hearing test. However, I was both too cheap and to stubborn and didn’t purchase them. This year I went back, had the test again, and I’m picking up my new Jabra Enhanced 20 Hearing Aids on Monday. My hearing deficit is mild and mostly the upper frequencies.
I chose the Jabra based on reviews I saw on YouTube. However, if after a couple of months if I don’t like them, I can exchange them for something else from Costco.
I’m sure I will have many questions from the more experienced members.
