I just demoed resounds, phonaks and widex moments. I found quality high to low to be the same order. I couldn’t think of anything about the widex’s that were any better than the resounds or phonaks, and my tipping point was being able to play my solo acoustic performances with them.
The resounds were the highest model, I’m sorry I can’t remember which. But they were life-changing. For the first time ever, I was in a noisy bar and I could hear what my friends were talking about across the l of the bar . They were just amazing. I did have them adjusted during the demo and he brought them up too high so the rest of my demo period wasn’t as positive because I had to turn them down every time I put them on but honestly they were the most powerful life-changing hearing aids I’ve ever tried and I MAY end up purchasing a pair. What I did not like about them is that I did not like how I sounded playing and singing with them on period like a tolerated but it wasn’t great, very lifeless and tinny. so I would actually keep my current five-year-old white exes just for playing and I don’t like that idea of having to have two sets simply because my expensive set doesn’t allow me to do one thing.
THE PHONAKS WERE DECENT PERIOD THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MORE NATURAL SOUNDING AND I THINK THEY WERE. Sorry for the all caps, button got stuck and I don’t have time to edit… But the phone acts weren’t as life-changing. the app was nearly useless. It crashed constantly and there was no way for me to use it in hurried situations while we were out period for example having it open ready for a waitress to come over to our table so that I could adjust it as she’s talking or other such things. It took a huge level of concentration and fudging while out in public which diminish my experience greatly. Other than that the phone acts were decent. Not remarkable, not life-changing, but they had a great little nicely uncompressed setting that I found fantastic for performing music.
i actually did find the widex’s just fine for music, but not as good as my old white exes. It’s probably just what I’m used to for one thing. My old widex’s just had this one completely uncompressed setting that sounds pretty natural but it’s very crisp and has a lot of trouble so I can really hear the crispness of my steel guitar strings. But my existing widex are absolutely miserable for hearing a conversation. I still have to use captions for any TV show in any room despite having my hearing aids turned all the way up. I can only have a conversation one on one and quiet rooms, and I’ve always been that way as long as I can remember. The resounds were the only product that allowed me to step away from that limitation for a short time.
