WhiteHat’s new sphere infinios

I got my aids on Tuesday.

Yesterday was first noise environment opportunity. Lunch at a Greek/Italian restaurant with my wife. Not extremely noisy, but it did go into spherical a few times. Was blown away at one point looking at my waitress when she talked - it was like we were alone in a small quiet room. Loud & clear. Wife was clear as well, then I noticed a guy in the booth behind me. Crazy good.

Today some friends went to a busy Chinese dim sum joint for a late lunch. It went into spherical a few steps into the place. It was great. I could hear everything well except at one point a female friend across a bigger round table that could seat 8. Just for a few moments. My wife commented on the drive home that I must have been hearing well, because my voice was uncharacteristically quiet. I have a reputation for booming loud speech. She was next to me and she said sometimes she had a hard time hearing me.

After lunch four of us walked on a river walk. There was a gusty storm blowing through, the wind was blowing right down the river. ~25kts? I had a hard time with wind noise. I turned my ball cap sideways so the bill protected the side closest to the friend I was walking next to, and that helped some. But weak sauce for sure. I don’t think we’d seen our friends in 8 or 9 months, so it was worth the exercise, cold wind, pelting rain and noise to be with them. But I could have used one of those helmet liners or sweatbands!

I’ve read that the ActiveVents do a clicking sound when switching , were you able to notice this ? I’ve read some people complaining about that

I would love to give these a try, I miss a lot of conversation in noisy environments. My loss is much worse than yours. One audiologist told me even with the Sphere Infinio’s I may still need to use my Roger On. I’m currently using Lumity 90s

Please see my past comments on activevents. Here’s an example.

I don’t think of it as a click. It sounds more like sqiwk. It is a bit softer than what other folks hear, I guess? Not objectionable to me at all. They wall out the sound I don’t want to hear. Quite noticeable in streaming and sphere mode.
