Hi, I have just taken delivery of my Phonak L70 and am over the moon. I purchased a pack of two filters and couldnt believe just how expensive they are . I have looked on amazon and a product from J.B.White for CeruShield disc is a fraction of the price. There are even cheaper filters but not in “disc” format. I dont want to buy the wrong ones and then fiddle about returning them. Would a very kind person please tell me which are the correct wax filters please. TIA
If you have the older receivers, the disc is correct. If you have the newer receivers (v5) then the filters are the same as what was used before they went to the discs, called something like cerustops. The discs were pretty much universally hated. I had to use a needle to dig the old one out a few times because things went sideways. (literally)

Phonak Audeo Lumity devices can use two different forms of receivers, and those receivers take their own kind of wax filter. If the wax guard in the receiver looks like a circle on the tip then those are CeruStops. If it looks like a cone a little deeper into the receiver, then those are CeruShields.
Hi WhiteHat thanks for coming back so quickly. I purchased a disc from my audiologist and at one stage I thought a re-mortgage was on the cards. Those he sold me yesterday are in the black disc. There is what looks identical and made by J.B.White are the same price but contain 32 filters. Those even cheaper and again made by J.B.White are small sticks with a filter each end, again made for CeruShield. To be a pain I have posted 2 pics og one sold to me, 4 discs from amazon and the little sticks. Do I need the discs or the shorts sticks please. TIA
If he sold you the disc, buy the discs. Cerustop is for a different receiver than you have. You can switch over to the other receiver, but I imagine they have a bunch of the old kind they want to move.

Hi PaulC, Thanks for that. The disc I purchased from the audiologist has CeruShield on the packet. Being thick does that means I am lumbered with the discs or can I use the filters on the ends of the little sticks. Thanks jack
Thanks again WhiteHat. Is the reciever the circular tube into which the dome fits. Presumably I can ask the guy simply to fir the newer ones or is it not quite that easy. thanks again jack
Yes, when you pull off the domes, you are looking at the receivers. The receivers are easy to swap for the new ones, if they have them. I know the clinic I visit has them.

Ah OK WhiteHat thanks yet again. I am due to see my guy this week so shall ask about the new recievers then. Much obliged. jack
Hi WhiteHat, just had a look on amazon.es and the new recievers are about $100 each. A change over will have to wait a while though… thanks again jack
Could be something like $30 soon enough. Amazon and similar online markets are your friends.

Thats a very good point if the new ones havent been out long. Do you know whether the new recievers are an improvement over the old ones in the audio side rather than filters. Thanks jack
Hi BarryH thanks very much for your time and truble, I shall oder some. regards jack
Just the different wax filter is worth it. Spending time with bright light, a magnifying glass and a needle digging out a wedged filter makes the change worth it. I sometimes had to ask my wife for the assist. She got good at it. I think I only wore them about 6 or 7 months before switching to the activevents.

I pray to the heavens when it comes to changing the filters on my KS 10’s. Yet the Costco audi. and others much younger than me seem as though they could do it blindfolded. What was Phonak’s thinking when they made a simple process so hit and miss? I’m 79, the largest percentage of users are probably 70 plus.
I have Phonak Paradise which use CeruStop and have just started trialling the Sphere which arrived with Shields. The audi said the new Shields were better (but didnt say why). But the new shields are different to the ones posted above. Maybe they have updated them. I was also told that I could ask for the cshells to be changed to the old CeruStop filters (ones on the right).
Anyone got feedback on these new shields?
@DaveUK
To make it still a bit more complicated these are my Cerustops. The newest ones unfortunately are from 08-2022 (the plastic white looking from the 3 rowed) just got from my HCP… so not THE newest I suppose.
Would be interesting to see a picture from the newest ones.
Edit:
And these are in my Spheres ± 2-3weeks old
There’s two types of interchangeableCerustops there. The plastic are the original and the metal ones are oleophobic. TBH I’d stick with the plastic as they are cheaper and the oleophobic function is a bit of gimick where the wax is being pushed in en masse. These are the latest (non-cerusheild) recievers though.
Thanks a lot @Um_bongo for your clarification. I got a bit confused looking at my collection in the cupboard.
