Trial Phonak naida lumity 50 up

Hello to everyone. I am Italy.
I’ve changed hearing care professional again. He suggested a cochlear implant three times, but right now I’m choosing not to. So he gave me an Oticon Xceed BTE 1, but it gives me various problems when I’m around multiple people; the sound gets disturbed by voices.
Then I switched to a Phonak Naida Lumity 50 Up. The sound is good, but the volume was too loud, so I turned it down. After three months, I’ve gotten used to it, but I can’t hear the background noise I keep hearing at bars, at work, in crowded places, etc.; however, when I’m at home or in quieter places, I can understand and perceive voices much better.
I’ve tried to make an appointment four times, but to no avail.
I have another question: is the ROGER technology absolutely necessary? The automatic mode gives me problems, and even in manual mode, I can’t hear well.
I read on an English forum/YouTube (Doctor Cliff Aud)
where he talks about “Real Ear Measurement” and specifies the need for better software for the platform line and sounds (OTOSUITE) or other eardrum programs, all of which are needed to try to hear better.
Furthermore, not all hearing care professionals perform REM. I asked a friend of mine, and he said audiometry is useless.

Thank you in advance, I hope for a comprehensive response.

Hello welcome to the forum. Please post your audiogram. Xceeds are over five yrs old technology. Lumity is newer technology. It is best to have Real Ear Measurement so your hearing aid will have proper prescription to your hearing loss. Less than 30% of audiologists in the USA do real ear measurement. I don’t know for your country.

I think Roger would be very helpful at work, especially in meetings. I found my Roger On made it possible for me to hear everyone in a large Board meeting (15 people around a table). Roger can be helpful in restaurants and bars, but only if a bit loud, not when extremely loud. These are places that can get so loud no one can hear speech. To use the Roger in noise, you have to use the ambient filter on the Phonak app to get the sound right or the total loudness will deter you from using.
