Hi, I’ve had my current hearing aid a Siemens reflex dsp for what feels like 20 years ! The local nhs audiology dept tried to swap me over to a newer aid but im so used to this one that i would really like to keep it, i understand it could break eventually but they can’t find a replacement hook so its currently taped as best as possible, does anyone know where i could source one.
Thanks
I have an old pair of Siemens DP Reflex? I could send you the hooks on those if they would fit. Not sure though if they will.
Siemens Relfex Aids are always on eBay.
One option is to buy the hearing aids on eBay to get the ear hooks.
They are super cheap.
Hey, thanks for your reply and kind offer, I’ve just compared the hook to mine and it looks the same, the older ones cover the whole microphone which is what im struggling to find so it’s worth a try !
How do i leave you my details and i can pay postage and package if needed.
Thanks, vikki
Thanks for the advice, will keep that in mind.
No need to pay at all I am more than happy to send them over
You can PM me on here your details and I will post them tomorrow.
You are an absolute star, I’ve been spending my days trying to keep the hook attached to the tubing thinking im going to end up loosing it completely if i don’t try to get it sorted ! I will pm you my address, thanks again.
99% of the time when the ear hooks break is when the tubing has been left too long and not been replaced.
Replacing tubing more often, means it does not go rock hard and it is easier to take off the ear hooks.
You are absolutely right, i go regularly to audiology and they change the mold etc this has been the only part they didn’t have left, there is nothing stopping me upgrading to a newer model I’ve just got so used to this one and i don’t want to part with it ! My family can’t understand why I’m stuck with a “vintage” hearing aid .
Changing the tubing has to be done more regularly then changing the ear moulds.
I change my tubing every 6 weeks. Ear moulds every year.
@user576 Less chance of breaking the ear hook if you change the tubing more often.
To get the old tubing off just heat it with a match or lighter. It softens and comes right off. I too have broken hooks trying to get the tube off.
