Hi
I just got my combination S24 and Nexia from Resound.
It is said that hands free should work in this combination but I only get the voice of the other person. It still uses the microphone in S24. Everything else works great. So I have to pick up the phone from the pocket…
I have been seaeching through all set up possibilities as I see it but no one helps. (Yes, Bluetooth LE is enabled.)
Following this. I am an S22 ultra/Phonak Lumity user and while not currently in the need for new hearing aids, I like to keep up with the Android capabilities of hearing aids.
I walked away from Apple and iPhone last summer and went back to Android and have been very happy with the S23. But there seems to be issues with the S24 while even the S23 and S24 using the same Android version and the same oneUI version.
There must be something in the hardware that is causing the problem.
Actually the S24 is on One UI 6.1 and the S23 is on One UI 6.0 (at least on my S23). I hope the update does not blow away my lovely hands free setup. It is nice to tap on your ear to answer the phone and be down the hall or in other rooms from the phone. My partner just got the S24 for this functionality. Not cool Samsung.
@cvkemp,
So I just repaired my EP 20s after updating to One UI 6.1.
I paired first with the Samsung Bluetooth interface and up popped new features… Turning off each HA and adjusting the volume in each HA independently. I then paired to the app which also worked.
Interestingly I noticed I could turn off LE Audio under detail then go back to the Bluetooth devices page and could connect and see “connected”, not “connected for voice and audio” and hands free is still working for phone calls. It also works the original way with LE Audio on.
I am testing the “connected” connection currently to see if it works any more consistently. I can still access the app. Weird huh?
Later I will try just pairing with the app and see if that shows the new features as well.
I did some more testing with my Jabra EP20s with Samsung S23 Ultra and and I think when Bluetooth says ‘connected’ that it does not use LE Audio and hands free is not supposed to work. When it says ‘Connected for calls and audio’ LE Audio is on and hands free is supposed to be working. In real life this is not always true, though usually is. ‘Connected’ mode may be more Bluetooth stable. We will see.
I also repaired with just the app as it started causing some confusion with the connection.
The microphone is supposed to be active on the S24, but you continue to only hear the other person’s voice. It may be worth making sure that all Bluetooth settings and connections to the device are correct.
How is everyone finding S24 now with the 6.1 update? Is the tap functionality working? I am considering switching to Android for LE Audio and improved connectivity from iPhone or having it as a spare phone. I wear Oticon Intents.
S24 with latest Android using latest update while using LE Audio and Jabra Enhance Pro20 did not provide tap control/hands free for me, as of 2-3 weeks ago. S23 is on Jabra approved list but not S24–for what it is worth.
Tap control on S23 works like a charm for me. However I saw my HCP enable tap control in my fitting software. It’s a separate switch. For both left and right ears.
I should mention that I have tap control even with LE Audio off.
