Samsung S24 and Resound Nexia

I tried streaming with my mum’s Samsung S24, and used LE Audio which was amazing and the option to turn on tap function was available for me but it does need to be turned on by your audiologist for this to work I think.

I’m tempted by the Samsung S24 Ultra. Played with it at the Samsung store in King’s Cross yesterday.

Just called Jabra support for Pro 20 and S24

*S24 is still not on Jabra compatibility list.

  • Samsung needs to patch and support finds out when this occurs when consumers are notified
  • To see if Hands free is turned on, from app : My Enhanced Pro, will see TapConrol option
  • Turn R and L on. Turning off and on may reset if there are issues.

  • My Pro 20 now has tap control (pickup phone call with tap on ear)
  • Caller can not hear me unless I speak in phone. I do not have M&RIE installed.

Streams fine.

Okay! I have the same experience with my S23 in ASHA protocol.

I am considering a Multi-Mic for hands free and for my computer… computer mostly I guess.

My partner has the PhoneClip+ for hands free. It is a bit smaller but does not connect to computers or possibly airplanes…

Does anybody with a battery version of the Pro 20 know how to accept calls using the HA button? Once I accept a call, I can put my Samsung 23 in my pocket but I have to first answer the call using the phone. (Tap control is not available on battery models). My Costco HAS said that I should just hold down the button for streaming, but that does not seem to work. I checked the Smart Fit software and don’t see a telephone button like in Target for my Phonak.

I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S24 (Exynos) to use Bluetooth LE Audio with my Resound Nexia hearing aids, but the sound quality is awful, distorted and slow when streaming music. It works fine if I turn off LE Audio, and it also works perfectly on my partner’s Galaxy S23 with LE Audio enabled.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the S24 (Exynos)? Any solutions or updates? Thanks!

Have you installed the latest One UI 6.6.1 update yet?

My partner has the S24U in the US so she does not have the same CPU as you do. Her’s is working well. We talk on the phone for about an hour a day and we hear each other very clearly, hands free… Me with the S23U.

Do you mean the 6.1.1? In any case, i currently have the 6.1 but the phone doesn’t find any update even tho I should be able to update to 6.1.1

Well I had this problem too, after the last update today, LE Audio doesn’t work anymore, when I turn it to LE Audio the Hearing aids will be kicked out of the streaming and it starts via the speaker of Galaxy S24. Annoying … but fortunately not that important for me

So there was a Galaxy S24 update today? And, it broke LE Audio?

If so, I guess I need to turn off auto updates on my S23U.

Edit: darn there is a download already started. However it seems to be stuck. I don’t know what that means.

My only hope is that the Android 15 update will fix everything in January, but i am not very optimistic

I got the December update on my S23U now and my experience with that phone at least is that LE Audio is still working well. My partner’s S24U is still having working LE Audio except she has to fairly regularly turn Bluetooth off and back on with her Jabras to get working sound. She has not updated her Jabras to the latest firmware or Samsung updates. I will look at her setup when she returns to the US in a couple weeks.

Has anyone reported back One UI 7 beta experience with LE Audio yet?

No update available to me this morning. I am so hopeful. Is it a matter of just waiting for Samsung to release it to my phone, or does anyone know a way to facilitate the update? Samir, can you expound on the before and after?

@Samir, Thank you for the feedback! My partner is excited to get the update as well. She is in the US on Verizon so I am expecting to have to wait a couple more days.

Before the update, whenever I tried to activate LE Audio on my phone, the streaming audio on my hearing aids came out all muffled and distorted. Now it’s working perfectly — I even feel like there’s a slight improvement in audio quality compared to ASHA, and theoretically, battery life should be better too. That said, today’s been a bit busy, so I haven’t had much time to really test it properly. I hope you get the update soon too — let me know how it works for you once it lands!

Well I updated my partner’s S24U a bit ago and I gave her a quick call. The first thing she noticed was she could finally hear me talking in both hearing aids!

I’m happy to report that this update (A15/OUI7) now seems to have reached Australia for me… atleast my S24 got it this morning, and so far these problems now seem resolved:

  • muffled audio when LE Audio was enabled on the BT device on my phone.
  • having to talk into my handset during phonecalls.

But the jury is still out on these ones:

  • the up-down nature of the BT connection
  • weird streamed audio effects: audio sometimes on left, or right, or out of phase (l+r) when listening to podcasts.

Will see how it goes in the coming days.

What a relief!!
