Roger On iN v2 firmware upgrade

Just got a Roger On iN v2 used via EBay. Much more affordable than new. Setup with my KS9 hearing aids was easy. I’ve downloaded the Roger Updater and debating if it’s worth it to upgrade firmware. I think I’ve read of people bricking theirs while updating and am unclear what benefits I might get by updating. Any feedback? Thanks.

I have always updated. Just make sure to have laptop fully charged, use solid USB cable and decently connect it. That’s all.

I also restart Windows before procedure.

I have not heard that. I have upgraded a few and never had a problem.

Upgraded my V1 twice and zero trouble. I’d do it again without thinking about it.

My experience is that it is slow and therefore a bit disturbing. It works but be patient.

Thanks all. Checked and my concerns were all for naught. Already had the latest firmware. Thanks again. It’s great that this level of technology is available for such reasonable prices on the used market.

I’ve had an opportunity to use a few times. Sometimes it’s magical and sometimes it just can’t cope with all the noise. Definitely a worthwhile tool to add to the kit.

If I buy a Roger On iN v2 on ebay with two receivers and then later on send in my hearing aids for a battery replacement or repair (presumably they simply replace the hearing aid in many cases), can I send the receivers back into the Roger on iN v2 so that they aren’t lost in the process?

Yes, but if you download the free Roger Upgrader software from Phonak, you can just add more licenses (free) to your Roger iN to use should the aids be returned without the licenses. When my aids were returned from Phonak, one had a license and one did not.
