Rexton Reach--additional programs/modes?

I’m returning my Jabras to my Costco on Friday and picking up my new Rexton Reaches. My Jabras have several programs or modes added that I can switch to using my app: Hear in Noise, Music and Outdoor. They can be handy at times.

Are there also programs that the rep can add for the Reaches? If so, do you know what they are or where I can get a list? If you have used them, what do you think of them?

Thanks in advance!

Yes up to 6 can be added.

That’s great to know, Tenkan! Have you used any of them? If you have, what do you think?

Yeah I’ve used them, but not for a long while (a bit like the App) i no longer feel the need to change programs as I’ve got my HAs dialed in pretty good, I didn’t find them that useful but that’s just me, others are cycling through all the time, here’s a screenshot of some of the program’s, Reach doesn’t seem to have anything different from the previous models.

Older models

Reach.

They’re very useful initially to figure out what’s working for you. But as you dial your devices in they become redundant. I’m down to two, Auto and Musicians (which has all auto features turned off)

Thanks so much! Looks like there’s a lot more programs than there are for the Jabra!

I get it! I’ve been only using the All Around and Hearing in Noise programs on my Jabra, even though I also have Music and Outdoors. One of the reasons why is because I forget to put them back to the default mode when I’m no longer listening to music or outdoors.

I have 4 programs loaded on my Rexton Reach but only use Auto and noise, the fitter asked if I wanted any programs and as I had 4 on my old aids I asked for 4, they implied I won’t need them but installed them anyway. I am still tuning the aids and hope to get to a point where I won’t need the additional programs

I found the noise program close tho useless. What worked for me in the end, was using beam forming [focus mode or whatever it is called, where you narrow the cone of sound] and proper fit.
The problem with these programs is that they’re legacy, they were made before some of the new automatic features were available, and they don’t take them into account. That’s what they’re not recommended.
I always like to have Musicians one at hand for two reasons, it processes sound differently, and secondly it has most of the automatic processing turned off. So it good for comparison and quickly turning off automatic stuff when it is misbehaving.

I do have the live music program but haven’t had a chance to try it yet

I got my Reaches Monday. Switched from Jabra Enhanced 20. Like night and day! Jabra sound was very thin and tinny. Reach sound more natural to me. Like I’m not wearing them. I don’t have the musician program but will ask for it. I’m really happy with the switch so far. Plus they’re more comfortable too.

Welcome to the forum, yeah the Rexton/Signia models are pretty good, good to hear your review as we don’t see a lot, how your streaming and phone calls?

I have 3… Auto, TV and Noise. The noise program has been modified and I only use it when on the tractor or bumping around in my old pickup.

I just added the Noise/party mode, and I use it during gym classes so far, so I can hear the instructor better.

Does the TV mode work well?

Excellent in connection with the Streamline TV connector

I like the bluetooth handsfree sound loud and clear and people tell me that I sound good also when calling them. I also use them for audio books and think they sound great

Streaming calls and music is much better than Jabra. The sound is much fuller and volume is great. Not sure if the domes could also be helping. They are shaped like discs and are open. I also have tulip domes but haven’t tried them yet.

Oh, those discs are terrrrrrrible for streaming, no bass whatsoever, everything escapes outside.

They gave me some tulip domes to try as well. Will give them a go. What is recommended for the best sounding music? I have also been trying out some noise canceling headphones. My AirPods Pro are no longer comfortable since I got HAs. I’ve also been getting feedback unless I turn my HA volume way down. I hope adding the music program will help.

My Reach domes are so comfortable and sound great when I stream. They are black and roundish shaped, with a little nipple at the end. They fit into my ear snugly and I can’t push them in too deeply. With my various Jabra domes, I kept pushing them in too much because they didn’t feel like they were in correctly. I asked my rep what these new domes were called, and he just said they were “medium round domes”. I can’t find them on-line.
