Browsing through all the hearing aids, I decided I should be realistic about the financial part. Is my first hearing aid, I know nothing about them so money should count. I found the ReSound Savi is starting around 500 Euro in Europe (maybe the most basic one) and I want to know if someone had some experience with this hearing aid? Also how can I get the software from ReSound? As I posted before I want to be able to tweak them myself. Are compatible with Noahlink? What is more cool about this cheap hearing aid is the Bluetooth LE. Not bad ah? I would appreciate a link for the sofware also. I guess this is my hearing aid. The insurance is giving me like 200 Euro, so for 300 Euro I can have a haering aid. What you experienced guys think? Thanks.
ReSound Savi: A Simplified Alternative
For those who prefer a more streamlined option, the ReSound Savi hearing aids offer essential hearing support without the extra AI-driven features found in the Vivia. While they still provide excellent sound quality and connectivity, they focus on core functionality rather than advanced processing.
What about Phonak Audeo Infinio R 30 (Essential) or 50 (Standard)? This is non-Sphere version of Infinio generation. It should be cheap, but with quite of newest technology. Sensheiser is also reportedly a good option to consider (it has the same mother company as Phonak - Sonova).
The older Phonak lineups:
- Lumity (from 2022)
- Paradise (2020)
- Marvel (2018)
I don’t recommend older HAs than 2018, because they require another obsolete connection than Noahlink Wireless 1 or 2.
What prices do you see?
Bear in mind it is rechargeable, so you can buy it only as new and charger must be in the set.
Phonak Audeo Infinio are very expensive in my country. I need to sell a kidney to get one. They are minimum 2000 euro each.
I think you will find that very few people have tried the Resound Savi. It’s very recently introduced. Note that it’s only the top model (level 9) of only the Vivia rechargeable that has the AI feature. None of the other Vivias have that. So rather than a Savi, I suggest you might consider an entry level Vivia.
Both models have Bluetooth Low Energy Audio which is totally different from the commonplace Bluetooth Low Energy.
If you want to DIY it then you need to ask in that part of this forum. The fitting software is the same as for other modern Resound hearing aids. And yes the NoahLink Wireless module is compatible.
I think the bargain hunters on the forum would recommend buying used. Do you have EBay available to you or a similar service? If so, scout it out for awhile. See what different aids are actually selling for. You should be able to pick up a fairly current top of the line hearing aid for not too much money.
I understand. Sad to hear. I edited my post to clarify that Phonak HAs older tham Marvel lineup (2018) are not compatible with Noahlink Wireless 1 or 2.
Hello MDB. Yeah I have ebay, but I live in Europe so I have also taxes. I’m afraid of buying second hand. No warranty. Also most of the hearing aids at good prices are guite old. Few generations behind. I’m interested in the last technology. Also as I said I want to have full control on them with the producer software and a Noah interface or whatever they do. I’m interested in the hearing aid Savi because in my country starts from 500 Euro. 500 Euro is my monthly incoming and yes is pretty hard because I need to make a bank loan even for this one! Now you understand? My insurance doesn’t pay for hearing aids, the only help you get is a voucher from the state worth 200 Euro which is pretty much the price of a wireless charger for hearing aids and you guys know it. I can’t afford paing some money on ebay to some strangers getting a hearing aid that may be broken. I would normally agree with your train of thought and yes a generation older or two Phonaks are way superior to the toy I plan to buy new but who’s giving me the warranty it all be fine. Is hard in my country my friend. We live from hand to mouth.
it is too old my friend. Thank you for the good advice but as I posted in my reply to MDB I can’t afford loosing money. Most likely I will make a bank loan and pay for them like a year. My monthy salary as I said is around 500 Euro (550 USD). No room for mistakes.
People here have managed to buy very good used hearing aids for a few hundred (less than $500) dollars on EBay. True, no warranty but most sellers are very good about refunding if there’s a problem. The hearing aids tend to be quite reliable with receiver failure being the most common issue. Do what you wish. I’m trying to share the wisdom of the forum. If you don’t want it you are welcome to ignore. Oh, and don’t look at what they are asking for aids on EBay. Look at what they actually sell for.
These concerns are why you do your research before spending money or asking questions you should figure out yourself. The term do it yourself is exactly that.
There is a learning curve to DIY but once you have it you will not be scared of buying used equipment and aids.
Hang in there and good luck.
Yeah I do agree but you see… you are from Central California. I’m from East Europe. Right? Even if they accept refunds, I’m not willing to lose money transporting things across the ocean. That’s it. Also I’m more interested in “new things”. Those “new things” on eBay are also very expensive, the only difference is I pay also import taxes (because most of the sellers are from USA not European space), I take a huge risk, they may work or die after 6 months let’s say, and I will still pay installments to the bank while throwing the hearing aid from ebay at the garbage. Different optics. You must understand for me 10 dollars is a week of eating food. Don’t imagine if we have incomes of 500 euro a month (like 550 dollars in your money) the prices are super cheep. We have the same prices on food like in Germany, Spain, or other countries were people are having the minim monthly income like 3x 4x times than I have.
hello David, where I can get the Software? Any idea? I googled up all the internet. Is frustrating. You got my idea. I need Bluetooth LE. I know they aren’t a great what of headphones, but they start at 500 (550 dollars), 2+1 year warranty!
Go the Hearing Aid Self fitting and Adjusting thread in this forum and post a request there. Someone will reply.
