Price of the new Oticon Agil Pro's

Yes. HA only.

I’ve had it in for less than an hour and it’s tinny compared to the Widex Diva. Waiting for an ear mold and for my brain to adjust to the big difference between the two brands.

Even at $2600 each it is a great price…
Hmmm, I just may have to go on a road trip… 6Hrs to Philly on the motorcycle… saves me $1K.

BTW, I trialed Widex at one point before buying the EpoqXWs. My AuD warned me that Oticon & Widex had very different “sound signatures”.
She said generally some folk love the Widex sound and some love Oticon’s. That they were both good but people had definite preference for one or the other. Since I got to try both, I found I fell into the Oticon camp. (BTW, I thought the Widex was “tinny” but so much depends on the programming that it hard to know if you are really comparing apples to apples.)

the Widex Owner used to be an Oticon employee. He is one of the richest man in denmark.
Widex has a very very confortable sound… Oticon focus more on speech understanding…
but the new agil will change this perhaps

Why do you think Agil will change the focus on speech understanding?

My audiologist is charging me $6,375 for the Agil (non pro) with the streamer. Is this normal or should I be getting the Pros for this price point?

That seems really high for the Agils. I got the Agil Pros for less than that.

My audio said, for me, they’d be $3000/ea and $500 for the streamer and connectline. I’m guessing, since I’m wearing power aids now, that she was quoting the Pros, but I don’t know (we’re conversing via email right now).
From what I’ve been reading, I wish I could afford the Agil’s. I still have a payment or two on my loan that I used to pay for my Sumos (just about 2 years old).
Would the Agils or the Bernafon Veras be good HAs for my hearing loss? Are the Agils and Veras similar?
I’m probably going to have to wait another year or two before I can afford new aids anyway, and by then there should be even better one’s to choose from.

lgoetz, I am getting the Agil Pros with custom ear molds plus the streamer, 6 packs of the wax stopper thingamabobs, and 2 spare receivers with domes (in case of emergency in a remote area!) for $6300. Not to mention unlimited visits/receiver changes for 2 years.

While bernafon and Oticon are part of the same group WDH, it is common knowledge that Oticon has better products (they have more resources). Agil is the 2nd generation wireless product, it has some interesting audiology concept - to keep the integrity of the signal as much as posible.

To be completely fair, Bernafon channel free has more or less the same aim @ heart.
The execution is simply diferent. I have not fitted Bernafon products, but generally they
are lagging?

channel free is not a new thing… I like to see come up with something new…

Did that also include the ConnectLine accessories for the TV and landline phone? I got all of that (minus the extra receivers with domes) plus an extra skin for the Streamer (orange :)) and DAI adaptors for times when the Streamer battery dies and I still want to listen to music - all for $6000. I felt like I got a pretty good deal…although of course it’s still $6000.

StrayKatt, my pricing did not include the Connectline tv or phone accessories. I am trialing a demo tv connectline for a week or so. The audi said it would be … hmmm, I forgot if she said $125 or $150.

In the end, I can afford it, and I don’t care how much it costs to be able to hear so well, so effortlessly. I am fortunate that things came together at the right time and place for me (money, need, and technology).

Have been trialing Epoq wx, and now have the Agil Pro Power Rite w/ custom
ear molds. Although I have only had them for three days, I know hat I will
keep them based on having used the Epoz wx and loving them. I finally
discussed price and was quoted $2650 @, and $375 for the complete
streamer package. Based on what I have read on this forum I feel that this
is more that fair price.
This is the third set of hearing aids that I have bought from this Audi, and
have always had unlimited follow up for the life of the aids at no additional
charge beyond the initial cost.

this are great aids

Xbuilder…do yourself a favour and fit a few Bernafon Verite. i’d be very surprised if your opinions re Bernafon didn’t change.

I don’t understand why my audi is telling me that I don’t qualify for the new Agil Pro when most of you are loving it and have a similar hearing loss as mine. Do I have to go with Phonak Exelia Art micro open fit mini BTE with custom molds because of the sound recover feature in it? Argh! Should i ignore my audi’s recommendation? Her office sells all the popular brands like phonak, Oticon, Siemens, Resound, etc. I wonder WHY??? Any idea?

I’ll do with a very open mind. What products are your favorite products, high mid and entry level

after trying both epoq and agil pro with
RITE hard molds bought pair of Agils $ 5400 so far so good will report fuller later.

I was quoted and tried both Oticon Epoq and Agil Pro for the same price.
Finnaly bought a pair of Agil Pro Rite hard domes for $ 5400.
Will report after further trial but so far very good.

What made you pick the Agil Pro? And how come the Epoq XW is the same price when the Agil Pro is considered the successor of the Epoq?
