Phonak Virto R Infinio Hearing Aids or Phonak Virto Paradise P90 312 (Custom ITE) and other questions?

Is anyone using trailing the newest ITE Phonak R Infinio Hearing aid or using the older ITE Phonak Virto P 90 312 hearing aid?

Please share your experiences. I am a long time Oticon user and thinking of making the switch to Phonak after the first of the year. My current hearing aids Oticon Real 1. I just had a very bad experience with trailing Oticon Intent 1. I had two defective Intent hearing aids right out of the box .

I would like to go to ITE style because of my active lifestyle. I have had moisture issues with my RIC type hearing aids Oticon OPN S1 and Real 1. Every year these aids have been in repair due to moisture/microphone issues even though they are dry boxed when I am not wearing them.

My very old (15 year) ITE Oticon Epoq still work… although cannot be programmed to meet my current needs.

I did not have these repair issues when I wore Oticon BTE hearing aids. Perhaps RIC style hearing aids are not for me?

Am I better off with a BTE type hearing aid vs. ITE? I live in very humid Houston and my head sweats like a bucket of water.

There is different thread about Virto Infinio R which you can search. For you, you should have at least SP receiver (if it fits physically in your ear canal).

If he goes with Phonak I believe he would need the P receivers. The UP would be more than he needs.

I use the Phonak Virto R, I like them. very customisable, can be linked to Roger devices which personally helps me a lot and a lot of flexibility with the app. I think they sound nicer than Phonaks previous generations of ITE devices, the processing delay seems to be shorter and the sound a little clearer.

Most of my life I was south of you in Galveston county, great fishing. Very humid.

From reading this forum I believe your flat hearing loss is a good fit for ITE hearing aids. Sweating would essentially be the same with BTE and ITE aids since you probably use ear molds.
