As of 9 Jan 25 there is a version 1.30 of the upgrader.
Any idea what is upgraded with this version?
Apologies for going off topic, but since everyone seems to be so familiar with the Roger system on here I thought Iād ask. When I stream from a phone to Phonak aids, there is no way of manually adjusting the EQ. I think the audiologist has to do that. When you stream from Roger, can you make changes to bass trebble and mids etc or is that not possible? I take it you can at least control the volume of Roger compared to your hearing aids?
Itās quite the opposite. You should install app like Wavelet (simplier app) or PowerAmp (more advanced app).
I have no idea apart from fitting with Target software, which is cumbersome.
Ah sorry I should have said, Iām using an iPhone. I think the apps youāre talking about only work on Android right?
I donāt know, but there must be another apps. However, I have no experience with iPhone.
NO sadlh this is the problem with iPHones, you can somewhat EQ the music but you canāt EQ the sound in general. Since I use the screen reader Voiceover, this is what Iād need to EQ and you canāt do that at all.
Can I ask stupid question - if buying a second hand phonak roger on v1. How often they will be updated via firmware software? Does this mean that v1 will upgraded as in the same features as roger on v3? Im trying to weigh whether to get or v1, or v2? The price of V3 is going to burn my pocket!
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
The primary difference between v1 and the later versions is that v2 and v3 have a headset function which can be used as a microphone when using the computer for telephone calls. I have version 1 and do not miss that because I donāt use the computer for phone calls. The firmware is updated by downloading a free program (Roger Upgrader) from the Phonak website. That program also lets you obtain additional licenses if you need to, for example when you obtain an additional set of Phonak hearing aids or the license installed in your hearing aid is lost for some reason (unlikely). I am talking about the Roger ON iN, not the Roger On. If you purchase just the Roger ON (No iN) you will need to purchase licenses separately. The v3 is reported to have a nicer and more endurable finish, to look nicer. I have a used v1 Roger ON iN which I can send you for free if you wish. The display does not work, but if you download the MyRogerMic app the display is not necessary. I purchased some of these on Ebay some time ago as a hobby and have been giving them away. I still have a couple. Send me a PM if you are interested.
How can I use it as a headset for the computer?I tried to connect through Bluetooth, it didnāt work out for me
I belive you must connect to the computer with a USB cable
It didnāt work for me
You need at least a V2 model for this.
Iāve got Roger On 3 and it didnāt work
Under setting, system, sounds, check input devices and input troubleshooting. This is way outside my wheelhouse, but just a suggestion.
I also have a v1. VA gave it to me, I think early 2022. I think there have been 2 updates to firmware so far as I recall.
I would like that headset function to be able to use the mic for calls from a phone in noisy places. I was on a call on Tuesday in a very noisy place with dozens of conversations going on around me, my caller couldnāt hear me. If I could use the mic on the phone (or the Roger) maybe heād have had a chance.
Iām going to ask for a new Roger on the 5th.

Question: Does the headset mode work with a smart phone? I believe it needs to be connected to the computer/phone with a USB cable. Or maybe I am way off base. I have the v1 so have not been able to try that.
Iām only reading between the lines here, but I recently received a version 2 Roger ON for my VA issued P90RT hearing aids - since they already have 03 licenses installed, even though the VA had Version 3 available.
I ASSUME the VA might issue a new Roger ON Version 3 when they begin furnishing the I90 Infineo Spheres beginning in early May since āitās my understandingā the Spheres require 02 licenses, although Iām not sure if my āassumptionā is correct because the V3 Roger info sheet says it will connect to any Roger Microphones.

I can carry a short usb-c to lightning for calls.

The license 02 or 03 is based what devices the aids are to be connected to. The 03 license connects all versions of the Roger On and Roger Select. The 02 license connects to all devices the 03 connects to plus others, primarily used in classrooms.
