Phonak Paradise MyPhonak App: How to use Music Mode with Youtube?

Greetings,

I just got a pair of Phonak Paradise hearing aids and got the MyPhonak installed on my phone. I was really looking forward to the bluetooth capabilities that everyone is talking about with this hearing aid.

What I’m trying to do is listen to music on YouTube using my moto g7 power phone. However, when I open the MyPhonak app, the music on youtube pauses, and then I select the preset “Music” program on MyPhonak. I can hear changes in the hearing aid like it’s all set to go, so I go back to YouTube again. When I play the music, I can tell that something changed in the sound quality of the hearing aid. When I go back to the MyPhonak app, I can see “Bluetooth streaming + mic 1” as the current program, which quickly changes back to “AutoSense OS 4.0”.

How can I listen to music on YouTube with the “Music” program settings for better music quality? I have a feeling that the fitted “Bluetooth streaming + mic 1” program is probably using “noise reduction”, which probably cuts out a lot of music quality.

Thanks

You should talk to your audi to disable it then.

Whenever your Paradise streams any sound from your connected bluetooth device, it’ll go to that mode again.

Also, under the hood, there are actually two streaming programs, one for music and another for speech, and autosense automatically switches between them.
You can ask your fitter to check how that music streaming program looks like and to adjust what you want.

I have three devices to stream music and speech directly to my hearing aids. Speech (cell phone, PC, etc.) is quite good and discernible. Music? Terrible. Like listening to an old time telephone. I use one of several sets of Bluetooth or wired headphones (behind the head and conventional style) to enjoy music. I use the hearing aids with the headphones, the aids furnish the high frequencies, the headphones furnish the bass. I absolutely! require both for optimum fidelity and enjoyment for many hours as I work around the shop (Bluetooth).
