3 band just means low, mid and highs. The software can select 3 channels instead of 20 which means it’s can be adjusted.
I never did a direct comparison test @CombatWombat I should have done so, as I had a Roger Select, and the Roger On, in my jacket pocket at the time. But, it could possibly be the Roger Pen & Naida Lumity combination, that’s at play here? It could also be, the Pen is a lot newer than my old Roger Pen? From recollection alone, bearing in mind, the last time I used the Roger On inside a car, it was with my Naida Paradise, lanyard mode was also very good to excellent, but I would say, if given the choice, I would probably pick the Pen, over the On, for using in the car alone… You can pick them up, fairly cheaply as you know, on eBay… Cheers Kev
Hi Peter, confirmation please, is this a Roger Pen or a Roger On, you where using last night in the car? Cheers Kev
I get that, but Target won’t let me boost those highs
@kevels55
Roger On, in table mode. I have a Roger Pen and a Select too.
Yes I’ve found that. Target think it knows what we want to hear or not hear.
Annoying.
Are you bumping up against a feedback limiter? (I’m totally ignorant of how that -target programming- all works, but throwing out ideas.)

Did that with the dispensing optician for about a year and a half. Last visit he erased all those changes; took my Phonaks and did a quick fit with a hearing test that wasn’t accurate. Don’t know how he got that test. It heard much better than I can.
@WhiteHat
I think that’s exactly what happens. It’s very strange that the app allows the changes (without any resulting feedback), but the actual fitting software make it, at best awkward
Peter
I think some fitting sw has a feedback prevention setting (not sure what it is called) which can be turned off to let you have that control at risk of fb. Turn it off and make your changes.
I’d say just don’t do that when you can’t go back and adjust if it fails by giving you too much fb. (Suffer through three week trip without your fitting setup and your HAs are screaming !)
I bet someone in the DIY section will know far better than I.

I don’t know if it’s different between Audeo and Naida but if you turn Feedback control off, the estimated feedback limit is always very very low which means even less gain can be applied, then if you run the Feedback control but turn it to 0.
I’ve learnt to cheat the Feedback control by taking my tubing off the ear hook, holding my finger over the ear hook and running the Feedback test which results in the limit of the Feedback control being the same as the maximum gain, which results in myself not been limited to the feedback limit.
As long as I have well fitting ear moulds, I don’t get whistling.
Right folks, my “Roger Clip-on Mic” arrived today, the manufacturer’s date stamp is March 2022, so it’s fairly new, and in pristine condition, I won it at auction on eBay for the amazing knock down price of, £30 + £5 shipping, I plan linking this with the Roger Pen, so the 2 front passengers have a Remote Mic each, with me in the back of the car, hopefully it will work well? Did a quick trial, with my wife Elspeth doing her running commentary, it works anywhere in the house, seems to have more range, than some other Roger devices? I was slightly taken aback, by how small the Clip-on Mic actually is, it’s tiny and looks cool Cheers Kev
Edit; Tried out linking the Roger Pen & Roger Clip-on Mic, in a 3 way conversation this afternoon at the kitchen table, I killed my Naida Lumity Mic’s, it worked exceptionally well, within limitations, when linked, only one Mic is live at any given time, but for the most part, it’s a very good system, when someone pauses talking, and the other person starts, it will switch back and forth seamlessly, I was impressed
I had a string of bad hearing tests from the audi that dispensed my Phonak Audeo Paradise P90R’s. Just had a better one from my new practitioner. But my hearing aids sound quite loud. I had a heck of a time and couldn’t hear until I switched to a new firm.
My new audiogram shows more hearing loss than yours does. Similar though…
My hearing aids mess me up sometimes. Once I was lucky and had the APP on. I found that “speech in noise” had the mics pointed straight ahead. Sitting in the shotgun seat in my Jeep I couldn’t hear anyone else talking. So I got “hearing well matters” to change the setting next time in. My Jeep is noisy; HA’s probably were in that program for quite a while.
Wondering if this is the way for HA designers to go. I just want to hear and understand words.
It’s a good marketing selling point, they are no doubt splash proof ; )
They aren’t even marketed as waterproof by Phonak so it’s a complete lie anyway!
Just the Audeo Life are classed as waterproof by Phonak Altho more splash proof!
@Zebras
Wasn’t there someone on here that was regulatly swimming in a pair of Lumity Life’s, quoting they never go more than a foot underwater, and everything was working well?
Not seen any posts on this for a few months.
Fro. what I’ve read, the highest water resistance rating is IP68. Virtually all Phonaks have that, from Marvel!
Peter
I wouldn’t be purposefully going in for a dip with them on Ruth… Although, 2 Seasons ago, I ended up swimming in “The Kyles of Sutherland” whilst trying to catch my fishing rod, I had just cast out, when my pal asked if I had noticed the Osprey, so I laid the rod down to move closer to speak to him, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the rod take off, and go straight into the water, closely followed by yours truly, I ended up swimming with the fishes the rod was gone, with a Salmon merrily dancing/jumping on the other end of the line I got the rod back, using another rod, with a weighted treble hook, amazingly the fish was still on, but alas he got off, after I nearly ended up swimming again It was indeed a comedy of errors, and if someone had been filming, it might have made a very funny video, it took a couple of days to dry out my iPhone properly, my Naida Paradise UP’s where fine though… Cheers Kev
