Phonak Infinio high-pitched sound mystery

I’ve been wearing Phonak Audeo Infinio hearing aids for six weeks, and on a couple of occasions, my wife noticed a high-pitched sound coming from them. Interestingly, I couldn’t hear the sound myself. Both times, I resolved the issue by powering the hearing aids off and back on.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? For context, this occurred with both the Infinio Sphere 90 and the Infinio non-Sphere 50 models

How much occluded is your acoustic coupling? These are open domes? Perhaps the feedback is a problem?

I had exactly the same issue. My wife heard a high pitch noise coming from my hearing aids. I put my palm over each ear, one ear at a time to figure out if both or only one aid was involved. When we identified the ear, I got a larger dome which solved the problem.
Edit: I use power domes,

When my KS10s came back from being ‘renewed’ or whatever they did with them, my dog was terrified and wouldn’t come near me, or even into the house! Even with molds, the HAs were feeding back so much that decreasing the volume had no effect on stopping it. They were unwearable until I DIYed them back to my previous programming.

I definitely agree :joy: Poor boy, dogs are VERY sensitive to high frequencies.

I was completely baffled by my Husky’s behavior, until I realized she was similarly freaked out by the smoke alarms’ beeping when the batteries were dying. This time it took her two days to get over the trauma! Strangely, I was completely unable to hear how bad the feedback was…
