Phonak infinio 50-latest product?

Just 2 weeks ago, I received a pair of new Phonak Lumity 50 hearing aids. They replaced a 5 year old pair of the Phonak Marvel 50’s. Well, just a few minutes ago, I was watching a video on the Lumity hearing aids, and to my surprise, the guy doing the reviews, said that the Lumity had been replaced by a newer model, the Infinio series.

Well I jumped on the phone and called my audiologist. Surprisingly, the audiologist answered (not the receptionist) the phone, so I was able to talk to him. He did say that the Infinio was a newer model and should have the latest technology. He said he would order a pair and give me a call when they come in so I could exchange the Lumity’s for them (Infinio 50). He said the cost was the same, so no extra fee, I’m hoping:slightly_smiling_face::crossed_fingers:.

What is anyone’s experience with the Infinio’s, especially the Infinio 50?

I use the Paradise for 3 years now and am quite happy with it. Because I read about the new Infinio, I tried them to see if they are really so much better than the reviews say.
I tested under all kind of circumstances, but could not experience any difference with Paradise.
According to me are the reviews by dr. Cliff and others not objective and marketing driven.

The chart that @Bimodal_user provided is a great reference. The Infinio is the latest Phonak models but the Infinio Spheres (90 & 70) have improved technology which includes a separate chip for speech in noise and a greatly improved battery which is good if you have trouble hearing speech in loud noise. The Infinio R series are the latest models without the Spheric technology.

It is quite possible that people with relatively good hearing would not perceive any improvement. For example, potentially people with good QuickSIN scores, which test speech hearing in noise.

However, many forum users have different experiences:

You didn’t share your audiogram, which might explain your experience. If you have used more open coupling, like open domes, this may also be an issue.

My audiologist did not share the audiogram with me. For the setting he used several techniques such as word-understanding and in-ear testing, so I trust he did all the right things.

I have open domes.

Well, we may know why you didn’t feel the benefits of the Spheric Speech Clarity program. Much of the noise enters the ear canal through openings in the open dome.
