My mum’s Phonak P30 showed red continuous red light on charger and wasn’t working at all. I took it to a hearing aids store. They checked and say its sam is dead (probably the mini-chip), and asking to buy a new h.a. as the cost of replacing mini-chip is 75% of the price of a new h.a.
Is there any global support from Phonak? My mum lives in Pakistan but I can bring the h.a to US or anywhere else closer to support.
Is there a solution. I saw several Youtube videos but nothing really worked for me. Can we get chip replaced from anywhere at a reasonable cost?
I’m pretty sure you’re well past warranty as Paradise is an older model. International warranty is typically a year. Buying a new hearing aid is likely the better way to go.
Paradise P30 manual. Check out reset. Reset the hearing aid. If it will. If it works please let me know
I’ve had that with my P90 hearing aids. Charged all night. Early in the workday my hearing aid was dead. Worked fine after resetting/drad battery/full recharge
Try holding the button down that is used for tuning it on for 15-20 seconds then put it back in the charger for awhile. That resets the charging circuit. I need to do it occasionally on my Phonak Marvels.
That’s too bad. I assume you did the obvious steps like cleaning the gold plated contacts on the hearing aids and in the charger. Also tried swapping the defective aid the the other charging slot?
What is the best possible replacement option for Phonak Paradise models, since they are deprecated?
One ear moderate and one with profound hearing loss.
I see the prices of newer models in US online are almost 50% of those she gets in Middle East.
How do we purchase in US when her audiogram is done back in Pakistan?
Are you sure your hearing aid is dead? Unrepairable? Are you using a version with replaceable batteries or a rechargeable battery?
I don’t want you to throw away your hearing aid if it’s a minor defect.
If you have a rechargeable version - if it won’t turn on, you may need to reset it by holding the button for 20 seconds. Some people wrote about it here.
If the receiver is broken, try replacing the receiver, try the receiver from another hearing aid
you should also try switching places in the charger
I know a merchant from India, would you buy from him since it is a neighboring country to yours?
