Phonak Cros Audeo P30-13T..."3 note tone in my right HA" about every hour

I wear the Phonak Cros Audeo P30-13T. ( Right ear bad. Left ear marginal.) The last couple of days I have been getting a “3 note tone in my right HA” about every hour. I cleaned them and replaced the batteries. Volume is good. It seems to work fine. Just trying figure out what is the meaning of the sounds. Thank you.

If your explanation and my understanding thereof are correct, you are hearing the “Battery Low” alert. The HA detects a lower than normal voltage:

  1. the battery is nearly “exhausted” (normal)
  2. the battery is too old (expiry date?), got once too warm or too cold and/or the seal (sticker) leaked.
  3. after removing the sticker, exposing the tiny hole, too little air passes through to fully activate the electricity production.
  4. the battery is fine but “dirty” fingers, sweat, etc.caused corrosion of the battery contacts.

Andreas, Thanks for the response. Monday Afternoon, Problem fixed. I found the answer right here on the Forum. “3 Chimes every hour, then every 5 minutes…”

I sent an e-mail to the Audiologist early this morning with the problem. They got me in this afternoon. When I purchased the Phonak HA’s, the “trial feature” was not turned off. I went to the Audiologist this afternoon and he got the problem fixed very quickly.
So HTH someone else down the line.
