Phonak Audeo Paradise P90-R vs P90-13T

Hi, my first post on this forum.

This thread is very helpful as I am currently trialling Phonak P90-R HAs. I was wondering why my battery charge was much shorter on some days than others, but now I realise it’s probably when I’ve been using the ‘speech in loud noise’ program.

Are there any other programs that dramatically drain the battery life?

Streaming also impacts how fast your aids discharge. Most custom programs also drain the aids more rapidly than autosense does.

Do you have Speech in 360 on your Aids? That’ll drain like the Speech in Loud Noise does.

I’m at the end of my first full week with my P13T. 7 days and I’m still on the first set of batteries. I’m impressed with battery life.

My Marvels are still working and I can go back and forth between them to compare. The Paradise are noticeably better for both speech and music. I’ve adjusted the MUSIC program so that it is LINEAR and since I have a large concert grand piano, I turn the volume down to -4 when using the app. Using the Paradise with my piano is very noticeably better than with the Marvels.

@TraderGary excellent news. Pleased that they are an improvement.

While discussing P90 chargers… has anyone a high pitch beep (my wife and son are driven mad by it, I hardly notice it wo my HAs) after the HAs have finished charging? I charge them overnight and the next morning the charger is doing it… maybe a 1/2 to 1 second apart.
The charger is this one;

See here:

Sorry, just getting back here… this HA charger has an internal battery that charges the HAs up to about 5 times and then has to be recharged itself. This charger box was freshly charged before putting the HAs in for an overnight charge and the high pitch pulse was heard after the HAs were fully charged every time they were charged.

I was given a trial pair of P90Rs (not the Life version) and the HAs and the charging box were sent back for replacement. The new set and charger does not do the high pitch pulse after charging so something must have been wrong with them or the charging box.

Thanks for the update.
Glad, the prblem is solved now

I am deaf in my left ear so I recently purchased the Phonak CROS P for my left ear and the Phonak Audéo P for my right ear. The streaming technology is great, but I can only get about 14 hours on a full charge. I think I will switch to the Phonak model that relies on replaceable 312 batteries. Then, if I have to replace them every other day, maybe I’ll be satisfied.

I have the 70P and get about the same battery life. I’ve found that by popping them into the Lithium powered charger somewhere during the day for 30 minutes extends the time to well over 20.

I got the same setup last fall. I was only getting 12 hours a day out of mine. This is because the CROS is streaming all the time.

I ordered the same aids with replaceable size 13 batteries and am very happy with them. I wear them from 7am until midnight and get 3-4 days out of the batteries.

Good to know. I had’t considered that. CROS isn’t in Canada yet.

Here is my update: I have been using the Phonak CROS with replaceable size 13 batteries for a couple of weeks now and am satisfied with them. Every four days I change the batteries at the beginning of the day and never worry any more about losing power while out and about. I won’t go back to rechargeable hearing aids until they are designed to last 18 hours a day.

As far as battery, or rechargeable, it is personal preference as far as I am concerned. There are multiple, valid reasons for choosing either. I currently have M90-13Ts, and the battery life with a good bit of streaming has reliably been 2 days. It seems to be around 5 with no streaming, though. These don’t seem typical. I will be getting new P90Rs soon. I decided to go with rechargeables just because I could.
I don’t know that they are better, but I think they will work well for me. If they lose charge, I’ll just take them off and charge them. I can get by quite well without them.

I got P90-R from the VA in September and I love them. If you fit the profile for them, and like to stream, ask about the activent receivers. Seals in the sound when you stream, yet allows in outside sound in many other circumstances.

I’ve never had the rechargeable run out of power. It lasts for 24 hours or longer.

However (for me), the left aid stops working for no reason. There is no way to reset it unless you go home and put it in a charger and play around with reset procedures.
