@prodigyplace: defanetly
This is an English language forum. Please kindly translate this foreign language word so we can better communicate which is the true utility of words.
@prodigyplace: This is also an Internet forum, and all of the above are commonly-encountered internet dialectical equivalents of the English word “definitely”.
Is your stuff written via a George Dubbya Bush language filter then?
I have only seen that from poor English spellers. That used to be an indication of lack of education. Now I see it very often in my university work setting and view it as laziness to learn.
This can’t be Real
Is this just a Prism revision 1 or a new platform?
Will the Xceed equivalent on this latest platform be out soon?
Polaris R. More is Polaris.
@prodigyplace: Life is brighter, and damaged hearing is less burdensome with a Sense of Humour, Bruce. Try it sometime!
[Some people can’t spell so good … others can’t read so good, ya know?]
… mop or broom specialist?
Yeah, moisture was a killer with my OPN1s. I had disposables and had constant moisture ingress into the battery chamber (I work in a very hot and humid environment, so sweat and humidity are pretty much a constant), along with the mic opening. The batteries would typically start to corrode within a few days from the moisture, and I’d have to constantly use a q-tip to clean corrosion out of the battery compartment, and that was with me religiously using a dehumidifier every night. I sent them back multiple times for repairs during the warranty period for failures caused by both issues.
Since I got the P90-Rs in 2020, I’ve worn them with ear gear and haven’t had a single moisture issue.
I’m presuming that the combination of switching to rechargeables and removing that moisture ingress point, as well as continuing to wear ear gear to prevent water ingress into the mic, will help prevent any moisture issues like I had last time around.
I’ve been with this audi for >10 years and, funnily enough, during my OPN1 fitting in 2017, she said she thought they’d be the best for my hearing needs but they might have issues with moisture given the environment I work in. She was definitely right!
@habu987: Sounds like you have a good audiologist. Congratulations! I hope my new guy is cut from similar cloth.
Ain’t that the truth Jim… I was afflicted with dyslexia, I have to try and double check everything, and even then, I still misinterpret some words, my punctuation is usually atrocious and I have problems with numbers, not to mention the fact, I am in the severe/profound threshold… For me at least, Dyslexia was a huge stigma, all through my school days, I was treated as the class dunce, by teachers & pupils alike, and if you are put down often enough, you start to believe it, this had a lasting impact in my younger days, but I kept on asking myself, “Why do bosses, keep promoting me, when my teachers always said, I was a thicko”? Eventually the penny dropped, I was an excellent organiser/supervisor/problem solver, when you have a “Spectrum Disorder” you are going to be good at certain things! In my formative years, it is a pity my teachers where blissfully unaware of what “Dyslexia” was, I might have made more of my life, when you consider my extreme lack of education, I did okay… But, who ever said, life is fair, we are all victims of circumstances, and back then, they had no idea what Dyslexia is… Cheers Kev
@kevels55: I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: Kev, you do your self proud. You have used the resources at your disposal to excellent advantage, in my opinion. You’re an example to lots of people, and they would do well to emulate it.
So I hear what you’re saying and there should not be a stigma for bad spelling or even poor reading (as long as you’re wise enough to read it a second time and make sure you get it right.)
What’s your take on sense of humour by the way.
Thank you Jim They say, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but it is my favourite… Admittedly, I use copius amounts of sarcasm at home, but not on here, some folks tend to misinterpret it, and go off halfcocked… Cheers Kev
@kevels55: Hmmm I must cipher on this for a bit, Kev. There may be a lesson here…
