Sadly it seems Oticon ON app will be discontinued next Thuesday judging from Oticon medical post on linkedin platform.

The Oticon On app will be retired in September 2023 and you’ll be notified to install the Oticon Companion on your smartphone.

Here is the full update from Oticon.

This is the content from the Website:

The Oticon ON smartphone app has served Oticon users well for several years, but it is time to say goodbye. ON app is not compatible with the upcoming iPhone iOS17 release, so it will soon be phased out.

What does this mean for you?

8th September 2023 - All ON app users will receive a notification to move to the new Oticon Companion app*.

Expected 12th September - Apple phone users

When iPhone iOS 17 is released on the expected date of 12th September, the ON app will close down and users will be directed to install the Oticon Companion app*.

31st October - Android phone users

The ON app will close down on Android platforms, and users will be directed to install the Oticon Companion app*.

*Please note that some older Oticon hearing aids, namely Opn & Siya, may require a firmware update to version 6.1 for compatibility with Companion.

Companion App 1.2.1
The Oticon Companion app is compatible with all Oticon hearing aids, right back to Opn (FW 6.1 required). In August we released Companion 1.2.0, which includes great new features for Oticon Real users including Hearing Fitness, Remember Volume Settings and Sound Equalizer.

Does anyone have this function working in their app?

I believe that it is only possible with the Real aids with the latest firmware update.

If you use an iPhone, look on the Accessibility function, or swipe up from bottom of screen to open built-in helper for functions on your hearing aid! An excellent alternative to the proprietary app!

My Xceed on firmware 8 connect easily with Oticon ON. IPhone update to iOS 16.6.1
Xceed has problem with Companion when iPhone on OS 16.6.1
Out of range and connect back easily. No problem of connectivity.

Yes, I have the “HearingFitness” function working. It shows me my daily/weekly/monthly wearing times.
My Companion app is version 1.2.1. I’m using Real aids, firmware 1.0.1. according to the app.

There is one day in the last 9 days for which the app says “data not linked”, even though I was wearing the aids for several hours that day and had the app running most of the time. But other than that, the function has worked for me since I first discovered it.

Hi. im on more 1 hearing aids and also using the companion app for now. Only issue i have is, that it seems to be crashing or simply closing during the day. The on app was running all day and also next morning after gettting the mores out of the charger. For companion i must manually start it again. Do others have that issue as well? im on Android with a Pixel 6 Pro and all battery enhancements for companion are deactivated. So it should be running all the time.
Regarding the hearing fitness: that seems to be REAL only for now. Even though it was working fine in ON app also with More.

I received the following information regarding the Companion app from Oticon offce.

Kindly take note that there is a known issue on the latest Companion App 1.2.1 that prevents pairing to Velox and Velox S devices.

Oticon will roll out a newer version 1.2.2 by today (13 September 2023) and at the same time the system will automatically request previous ON App users to uninstall ON App and install Companion App 1.2.2. Please install this latest version.
For older Velox devices, please make sure to have the latest firmware (Opn: FW6.1 / Siya: FW1.1) before being able to pair with Companion App.

Kindly disseminate this information to the relevant personnel.

Hope the above info helps!

Thanks for that.
It connected to my xceeds but took forever.

Hi everyone, I am from Vienna (Austria) and new to this forum. I have a question related to the Oticon Companion app. I have Oticon Real 1 hearing aids and I am quite happy with them. According to the information provided by Oticon there should be a sound equalizer (not only a streaming equalizer) in the newest version of the app but it is not there in my case. I have had the aids updated to the latest firmware version (version 1.0.1) and have afterwards de-installed and re-installed the app (version: 1.2.2.). But this does not help, the sound equalizer is not there. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and found a solution for it? Kind regards, Oliver

I got my aids updated to 1.1.0 (not 1.0.1) yesterday, and now the Companion app has the sound equalizer.

On a related subject, while I now have a working sound equalizer in the app, there are no equalizer sliders in the iPhone triple-click menu. There are with my ReSound Quattros.

thank you, I will ask for 1.1.0 then, when I have my next appointment with the audi. kind regards, oliver

Yes, and the app Companion is very disappointing. The former app connected instantly and worked great, this one does not. First, it has to connect to the hearing aids. At first this worked, but lately I either cannot get a response when I click on hearing aids or I have to shut my iPhone down and restart it (this usually works). It takes too long to connect, and too long to shut down my phone and restart it. Yes, I have uninstalled it three times now and reinstated it and it works for a day and then I am back to shutting my phone down. Also, when I install the batteries, I was told to leave them sitting out 3-5 minutes so they can be exposed to O₂. And then when I insert them, it says they have only 60% of the battery remaining. I get the batteries from my hearing aid specialist’s office. Is anyone else experiencing these difficulties? I have no issues with my internet service provider. Disgusted in Atlanta.
