Me: iPhone X, wife iPhone XS Max. Two TV adapters 3.0. Both wear Oticon More1s. Problem: I switch seamlessly between adapters automatically while wife does not and I must manually turn off/on both her regular BT and usually her Oticon ON BT in settings. Moreover her HAs always register unconnected when first attempting to access TV boxes. Audi so far unable to offer solution but says she doesn’t think problem is with wife’s HAs. Seems to me only other variable is our iPhones themselves. Suggestions greatly appreciated and eagerly awaited.
More than likely the problem is the Oticon ON app. I don’t use the app any more. I just use the iPhone settings and control panel to control my aids.
Is it possible then that her ON app is bad and mine is good? Would it be helpful to delete her app and download it again? I’m not sure how to control things w/o the app. Thank you very much.
You can do everthing you need to do with through Accessibility. I may dump ON too. Ty.
Usually a reboot of the iPhone helps for a day or two. Also insure that her iPhone has the latest IOS15.4.1 updates.
I have iPhone XR still on 15.3.1 - Mores 1 rechargeable and only 1 TV3 adapter. I have always had inconsistent TV adapter recognizing / connecting both the Mores within the ON App, but the TV adapter always streams to the Mores - even though the ON App isn’t connecting (usually only to one, but sometimes both). I need to use the ON App to adjust the equalizer, or I would only use the MFi accessibility panel in the iPhone. Triple click the button on the right for easy access to the settings built into the iPhone.
To get the On App to connect to the hearing aids when it doesn’t automatically - I quickly put the hearing aid in the charger for a reboot of the hearing aid. Or you can turn aid off than on using the buttons on the aid. I can actually watch it connect on the ON App.
My experience is the TV adapter has nothing to do with the BT on the iPhone. I only need/want the iPhone to adjust volume, etc.
The ON app is just plain for lack of a better word, wonky. There are two easy ways to control your aids directly from your phone. Using the side button, click on it 3 times quickly. The Accessibility Shortcuts screen will pop up. Click on Hearing Devices. All your controls are right there. Another way is to go to your iPhone settings and scroll down and click on Accessibility. Scroll down to the section on Hearing and click on hearing devices. Now click on your aids under MFI HEARING DEVICES, all controls will pop up. I’ve deleted the ON app and don’t care if they ever get it working properly. Just another useless non feature as far as I’m concerned. There is also a remote control available for the tv3. With so many other ways to control mine I returned the remote I had. Last but not you can always push the rocker button on your More 1 to change channels from the general setting to the tv adapter setting.
You can say that again. I may be wrong, but I believer there are some features of the More1s that you cannot access via the the MFI configs in settings to my knowledge. The MoreSound Booster for one. I’ve found that to be helpful. If it is accessible from iPhone settings, I’d like to know.
The MoreSoundBoost and the equalizer isn’t available except within the app
@cvkemp: I haven’t had the new firmware update - it’s not available here, yet. But since the last Apple iOS update, my Bluetooth connection seems not as reliable, and my battery capacity is down to only 81%.
[I hope my More 1 rechargeable batteries aren’t going to crap out on me after only 10 months, like the first set.]
Since t5.4.1 update my app works most of the time. And my battery usage is maybe a little better all around. I still have issues at times with connectivity issues when using the TV adapter.
@cvkemp: Yes - I believe you mentioned that in an earlier post, which is why I’m worried that my batteries are heading South again. The Bluetooth is funny though. I’ll often lose the connection to either the left or the right device, momentarily. That hardly ever used to happen to me before rhe last iOS update
My right aid battery at the end of the day is any where from 6% to 8% more use than the left. But anytime I lose connectivity it is always the left aid.which makes me believe that he right aid does the heavy lifting with the Bluetooth. And the left aid gets its instructions from the right aid.
Now when my right aid starts having issues with muting and unmuting when I stream the left aid no longer is getting the commands for program changes or volume changes from the app or the iPhone. To get the aids back in sync is a matter of one or the other. Restart the aids or restart the iPhone and at times recycling the iPhone Bluetooth.
I have documented this an sent it to both Oticon and Apple, and as you can imagine both say it isn’t their issue.
But my troubleshooting and IT experience says this is a common issue for both. The aids don’t have a strong enough power source is I believe the main issue. But I also believe that Apple is holding back needed technical data from the hearing aid companies.
Could you please provide a link or more info on this remote? I’m wondering if separate TV3s would take separate remotes.
Sorry. The remote is actually the one for your aids, not the tv3 per se. It won’t change tv channels, just your aids volume and channels. https://www.rehab.va.gov/PROSTHETICS/audiology/VendorResources/QuickStartTVAdapter30andRemoteControl30.pdf
I have a similar but different issue.
After my specialist updated the firmware on my more 1’s the automatic routing of audio from my
i phone 12 Pro has become unstable. The oticon app continues to work ok but I have to shut down my HA’s set my phone to forget the bt connection and re pair several times a day if I want to rout audio from phone calls and any played media to my ears.
My tv sender works fine and so does the other iphone app functions.
Thus is so annoying as this is one of the main reasons for spending so much on these HA”s.
@simon1: Welcome to the forum. You don’t happen to have your iPhone routing selector set to Automatic, do you? If so try setting it to Always Hearing Devices.
