Easy LE Adapter Must be some kind of USB adapter or something?
Edit: Found this:
** An Easy LE Adapter is required for Android devices and PCs with USB-C ports without LE-Audio compatibility.
The update took just over 4 minutes. Hopefully, this resolves the connection glitches I was experiencing.
Are you saying you updated the aids by way of the app?
Sorry, should’ve mentioned I did it with Genie 2.
I figured so, i just emailed my VA audiologist about it. I am hoping it is available soon. But my guess it will not be available to the VA until November.
My VA audiologist just emailed me that the VA should have the update in the first half of September
I have an adjustment visit set for Tuesday, so they probably won’t have the update according to your info.
I’ll probably DIY it after I get home.
Last time I updated before the VA visit, they couldn’t even connect to my Mores. It was quite hilarious, as they didn’t know what to do.
The chief called Oticon, and they were pissed that I had even done DIY. They said we’d have to send them in for a f/w downgrade, ha!
That’s when the chief connected me to community care, and I got a local audi to do adjustments.
I’ve since gone back to the VA.
I do volunteer work for the VA audiology clinic, I know the Oticon rep as well as a number of the other hearing aid companies’ reps. I help the veterans where I can, with connectivity issues and just general issues. It takes some if the load off the 2 audiologist and the single hearing tech. And i get information at times that cannot be publicly known. I still have to adhere to my security clearance in a way. My wife are a month away from a 2500 mile RV trip so I am only helping out once a week for now. My annual hearing test it September 20th. So I am hoping that the update is available by then. I am at this time putting together a list of minor adjustments I am hoping for. Not that is enough if an issue to worry about even. But hopefully the firmware update will fix the hands free issues. Then I have to hold my breath when Samsung upgrades to Android 15 in more than likely later November or December.
Maybe the VA is using an older version of Genie 2. If your Oticon hearing aids have been connected to the latest version of Genie 2, it won’t be possible to connect them using an older version of Genie 2!
That is what happens. The VA is very strict on any software or OS updates. They have to have pre-approval before even the local IT professional can do the updates to the Gene2 software. And even then the VA networks have issues. The clinic I use is actually a half dozen clinics. Each clinic has an isolated network for clinic software and then there is the VA network for patient records. It is a complicated setup. Every time I go there I shake my head. With the number of different computers. But also my clinic is a Community Care Clinic and it runs differently than what I was use to in Texas.
Maybe it’s necessary for people who diy Oticon hearing aids from VA to not update Genie 2 to the latest version.
BTW I had this update on my Inten now but the problem is that I cannot link with Genie2 anymore because I cannot update it yet.
I just don’t DIY, I have an awesome audiologist and don’t need to screw with my own aids. I have the knowledge of electronics, software and now my own hearing loss and enough common sense to know that I should not screw with my own aids.
But why not, what’s the latest you have, should be straight forward if one is available, are you using USA standalone when installing, so what actually happens when you click on the genie updater?
According to my VA audiologist it may not be released in the USA.
nothing happens that’s the strange thing
Ok so the Genie update I see is 2024.1 correct for yours?
No, 2024.2 is the latest
