New Phonak's on August 9th?

I’m following. I’m interested.
I have Phonak Audeo Paradise P90R’s. My setup was attrocious and I couldn’t hear until I left my dispensing audi. That was about 2 years…They perform better now after they were setup better.
I have an impression that the Lumity is an upgrade.

So my experience…find a supplier you have faith in. One that’s provided to help and make them work.

Thinking about this, I’d like to square you away with some of the language. Phonak is the brand. Audeo is the form factor. (RIC vs BTE or in-ear customs). Lumity is the platform, the technology inside which makes it all happen. When new generations of HA technology comes out, they generally give it a new name. Older platform names you may hear about are paradise and marvel. Paradise Audeo came out about 4 years ago. Lumity Audeo two years ago. After a while the platform comes out in Naida, and lastly in the customs. Customs with Lumity aren’t out yet, expect that in the fall, too. They seem to run about a generation behind in platform tech.

All this applies to Phonak’s products. The other brands have their own schemes.

I hope this helps.

This absolutely helps a lot, thank you so much. I’m not so sure now that Phonak is going to come out with anything new in what I was looking at getting which is the Audeo Lumity L-R L90 that would be worth waiting to find out. However, my audiologist’s assistant said they have a meeting with their rep at the end of the month and would ask, so I’m on hold until then at least.

This is like new car model years coming out. Usually you’d rather have the newer one. Talk with your audiologist…

You are right! I’ve had my current pair for 6 years, I don’t want to buy a 2 year old model if a new model is coming out this year. What’s a few more months, not a big deal to wait it out.

Good news. We who already have Phonak hearing aids need long standing problems fixed.

I’m fighting with the awful wax guards in my Phonak
Audeo Paradise P90R’s. they were supplied by workman’s compensation. I’m grateful.
I hope they address the new receivers in Canada. Phonak Canada said they have no knowledge of them.
I have 2P power receivers. My hearing specialist has installed 4 so far. Perhaps another one today? The wax guards don’t fit in the receivers.

In two years I shall be due for new hearing aids

I’m optimistic. The new hearing aids will be much better.

I volunteer again to be part of a focus group to test and review high end prototype aids for Phonak! Let us help get it right first time with users’ help!

The 5.0 receivers are in Canada now. They are shipping on all new devices. I’ve been swapping my patients all week. Call your provider.

Is there a new version of activevent, too?

Thanks Neville. I shall.

I made an appointment for Wednesday. I’m taking my Paradise P90Rs in for last chance warranty check. HA and charger. Back to Phonak. Low battery today. 7:30 am to 8:00 pm. No streaming.
I’ll call the instrument specialist again tomorrow early. I need the 5.0 receivers.

Truly appreciate you telling me.

No, the activevent isn’t the cerushield anyway. It’s the HF 3 or 4, I cannot recall. Though I’d appreciate a new version with a quieter click.

I have Phonak Paradise P90’s 13T. They’ve performed wonderfully for me, but I’m approaching needing a replacement. I’m skipping Phonak Lumity and hoping to get into the next platform with improved clarity and better connectivity.

So do I (2P power receivers) and I don’t have any issues with them, as for the wax guards, they require a small rubber insert that my Audi told me that if it comes out with the guard use some glue, I’m not if she was joking… She did not seem to know if that part was available, so when I clean the WG (reverse air blowing) I’m careful not the take them out with the guard, I do this about every 2 weeks or when I notice that I don’t hear properly from that side.

Was having issues with the 4.0 autosence, sent my aids in to reprogram, when I re-paired to the app, all the programs that I had created came back as if I had never disconnected the aids.

I expect phonak to offer something like Oticon More or Starkey Genesis with some kind of artificial intelligence, phonak’s version of dnn. If it comes, it will also come with a new bluetooth with Auracast support. … If not, Phonak will. release bluetooth clasic again, and it will be an improved Phonak Lumity with a new name.

Hopefully you’re correct and Phonak gives us a useful update.

My wish is that Phonak include the Roger receivers in all their new Aids. The Roger system is wonderful, but all the receiver costs and On IN versus ON business causes much confusion.

Give us the receivers built in to the aids, then just bleed us dry buying their Roger products.

So, I don’t know how widespread this is and so how likely it is to play into it, but where I am there is government funding for FM systems but the “FM system” is defined as the receiver and the transmitter–you need both to get the funding. I wonder if they aren’t jumping through some hoops to allow some users to access funding.

Interesting. I didn’t know. Is it federal or Ontario?

DaveL

Ontario.

And then I write some other stuff to satisfy the forum length rules.

So at this point it seems we’ll be getting a new Phonak RIC with advanced processing and presumably a bigger rechargeable battery but still using Classic Bluetooth and being Roger Compatible?

With our luck August 9th might only be a new Roger Device…hopefully I’m wrong.
