I never could listen to music with the OPNS1 aids. I could barely stand music with my Real1 aids. But it seems that the INTENT1 aids hit a sweet spot for my hearing loss needs.
You have to understand that I am a veteran with service related hearing loss and classified as disabled because of my hearing loss. My aids are provided by the Veterans Administration and I have a wonderful audiologist for now close to 7 years. He sees to it that I get the newest aids when they become available on the VA contract. I have a technical background and I am his tester for the aids. He is also a professor of audiology at the State University Medical School and I have monitored his classes and learned a lot about my hearing loss. I am a case study for his students too.
Oticon SI is 1) Based on the Sirius platform b) It is battery operated. Things, I would expect: Product extensions MiniRite (312 non rechargable) , Minibte R and Minibte (this are no brainer)/ Cross PX based on the Sirius Platform …
What IT MIGHT COME, BTE PP long overdue. The best BTE PP they have is Opn SPP which is very old technology.
the last bte 105 was Opn SPP , so that is a no brainer. They have been teasing for months on how conversations generally take turns, I think this is where Intent iteration will come in the new signal processing. An ITE could be but less likely
If my VA audiologist can fit me with ITE aids I will jump ship and leave Oticon after over 15 years to get an updated ITE set of aids. Phonak is definitely on my radar.
Hopefully they will keep updating the Intent firmware for the foreseeable future and release a new version of their high power Xceed hearing aids with Intent technology.
I think they will tease, a Minor improvement to the Intent and launch another product by the end of 2026, before the end of the year which is when it is my understanding that they negotiate contracts with the big chains. If I have to guess, they will incorporate two things- own voice detector as well as some processing where people take turn talking. This seems like a no brainer. They also have a demo in video where they use AI to extract the voice of someone un a noisy envioremnt provided that person has a voice that has a sample on the hearing aid (trained). I think the amount of computational power to make such a feat is Hughe not sure if we will see it soon but it is certainly possible.
if you would like your ear canal made the size of your stereo speakers then we can get that low of distortion but few if any can hear distortion that low. In fact it has to be over 5% to be identified so be happy with the 2%. Just the reality of the mechanism. I guarantee if your stereo had such small speakers you’d have more distortion. And the work on the speakers as well and the instruments. But if you can not get significant improvement then not worth the change
I understand. Also, I erroneously gave the distortion for the amplifier and not the speaker. I do observe however that Air Pods provide superior sound quality to hearing aids, but are not practical for my hearing aid use. I also understand that solid state speakers can make a significant difference but currently require too much power to be used in HA. One can always hope.
I sincerely hope they will release not only RIC with the replaceable 312/13 batteries, but also SuperPower/UltraPower BTE with the replaceable 675 batteries.
70% of mobile users use Android systems. I bet they will bring up an Intent+ with better AI and Classic Bluetooth, and Auracast. Such a product will address the number one complaint about Oticon hearing aids, which is poor connectivity, and offer a better and user-friendly mobile app, hopefully.
Hope so! I’m currently wearing Phonak P90s, and they have good connectivity with my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone, but I miss the sound quality of my old Oticon Opns!
They definitely addressed the issue with the Intent, which features LE Audio. Recent Samsung, Pixel, and One Plus phones are LEA enabled, and the connectivity is excellent with increased range, and great fidelity over ASHA.
You can expect firmware update until 2026 for Oticon Intent at least.
I have Oticon Real since early 2024 with only 1 firmware update then Oticon Intent released late year of 2024. I thought Oticon Real support was over. But surprise 2025, another new firmware update for Oticon Real.
Bluetooth connection performance really good now. Used to be hard to connect sometime or loss. Happy.
