I am going to Costco this weekend to get my new Jabra Pro 30’s. Just wondering what they give you in spare stuff with them . I would assume they give you spare wax guards and domes. Also I saw these hearing aids have replaceable speaker covers that we can change ourselves. Did they give you any of these with your hearing aids. I have had Costco hearing aids for a dozen or so years, and since I live a long way from any Costco store, I have been maintaining my own hearing aids as much as I can, including the receiver wires that I buy online. I currently have the KS10’s which I have had since they first came out. They are ok, but since I need to stream a lot, the batteries never last that long. Hoping the Pro 30’s will make it thought the day without needing charging. Also I have read that the Pro 30’s are actually the Resound Vivia 9. Is that true. Thanks for any info.
Just ask Costco for those supplies you need, and explain that you li ve a long way out–I’m sure they will be happy to comply. Usually they give me such things automatically. But if you have specific needs, ask. GL
Your hearing aids will come in a box. The box will contain a Velcro pouch to put your hearing aids in when you go to the barbers shop, or go to the swimming pool. a cloth to wipe them down with before putting them in the charger. A cleaning brush with a little hook on one end, and the Jabra premium charger with an internal battery. The battery will charge your hearing aids without AC power for three nights. Also, your Costco hearing aid specialist will give you a year’s supply of wax filters and replacement domes. My hearing aid specialist told me that they are prohibited from giving more than a year’s worth of supplies.
Because my Costco location is less than five miles I didn’t want the microphone replacement covers nor how to replace them. They are very small. You may want instructions on how to change them since you don’t live nearby your store Costco store.
I have had mine for a month and a half and I am extremely pleased with them. I was fitted in December for the Jabra Enhanced Pro 20s, and traded them for the 30s in May. The 30s are a big improvement.
I am glad to hear that … I have the pro 20’s and am getting the 30’s this Saturday .
I hope I get the same results as you.
I my experience at 2 different Costco’s, i had to request any extra domes and filters. Neither place offered them
My understanding is that they are supposed to give you one year’s supply of wax filters and domes when you are fitted. I asked my hearing aid specialist, what should happen if I mess up a couple of filters and don’t have enough for the year. She said, come in and I will give you another year’s supply. If I were you, I would just walk up to the desk at the hearing aid center and ask them for a supply of wax filters and domes, after they give them to you, ask them to clean your hearing aids while you shop.
Yes correct the same with a different name.
If the chart is updated in the hearing aid section of this website, there are only six manufacturers of hearing aids in the world. They sell them under a variety of brands based on location. One of those six is GN. They manufacture the hearing aids in North America under the brand names of Resound, Beltone, and Jabra.
Resound is made in North America? Where did you get that information?
Scroll to the top of the page in this forum, Hearing Tracker, and click on Hearing Aids. Then read the article, “Comprehensive Guide to Hearing Aids: What to Know for 2025“. If you read the article explaining all about hearing aids there’s a chart which shows the seven manufacturers and the different brands.
But none are made in NA…
I looked on my hearing aid and the print is too small to read, even with my reading glasses, but it should be marked on the hearing aid it’s place of manufacture.
Nope, i just used a high power loup and neither my orignal Pro’s or 30’s have any country listed on the aid. But im pretty sure no GN aid is manufactured in NA. In fact I believe Starky is the only aid made in NA. Odd that my original Pros have a “product of denmark” sticker on the box and the 30’s list no country of origin. The mystery continues…
Because hearing aids are considered medical devices, they may not be required o display the country of origin. I just don’t know that answer.
So i called Jabra and im wrong. Jabra does “manufacturing” in Bloomington Indiana. But not sure if they do anymore than assemble components. I had once read that no matter where GN aids are made, the internal chip set(s) is made in Denmark.
This makes sense to me.
Regarding chips from Denmark, sorry, nope, not even companies as large as Apple or Nvidia make their own chips. That’s something you use contract manufacturers for.
- Starkey almost certainly uses Onsemi
- Demant uses TSMC
- Signia uses Infineon
- Phonak likely uses NXP
- GN is a mystery, but they most definitely don’t have their own fab.
Well that’s all good information, so they make all these chips in china?
None of these companies is Chinese:
Onsemi: American
TSMC: Taiwanese
Infineon: German (spun out of Siemens)
NXP: Dutch (spun out of Philips)
Apple makes their own chips and they have been very successful with them.
