MyPhonak App Update - 6.2.3.1185

Not much use here since my MyPhonak App is on version 4.0.6 but I’m curious about the connection time,my HA’s typically connect within 5 seconds of opening the app but they take longer to Bluetooth stream if I just turned them on.

Since upgrading to 6.3.0 today my aids are not connecting reliably to the app and I’m getting spinning wheels galore. I’ve tried removing the app, re-pairing Bluetooth etc. nothing works

Phonak support tell me to update the firmware in my hearing aids so a trip to the audiologist is on the cards for tomorrow morning.

Be warned!

I have Phonak P90R and iPhone 14 Pro

I agree. It seems somewhat faster.

I experienced that as well. Seems one needs to update the firmware of the aids first and THEN the MyPhonak app. I bet this is going to get a lot of people upset since most don’t have DIY Target access.

Yeah well it’s one of the things I always say, don’t update App or firmware unless it’s absolutely necessary, if everything is working fine you don’t need “new firmware” that only breaks what was working.

Agreed on firmware updates as those are super risky and for most people something that can’t be done at home (unless you’re a DIY-er). However, there’s just no way of knowing if an app update will break what was previously working. It really shouldn’t be like this. There’s no Release Notes that accompany the app to warn you not to upgrade unless you’re on a particular firmware version.

Maybe you’re just being cynical but that seems an odd way to look at the world. Perhaps you’re uncomfortable with technology and if things work for you and you’re happy with the way they work then there would be no reason to change that. In my case though, I have found that firmware updates normally mean things work more efficiently faster, and better.

Many thanks for the update. I was able to do them all just fine since I have the Noahlink and Target software (updated the Target software and Noahlink firmware first).

Wow! So far so good with the updated myPhonak app. It connects IMMEDIATELY!
If this keeps up then it actually becomes useful after all these years….

Well, I performed the app update yesterday on my Android Pixel 6a, and it is much faster in connecting to my Lumity HAs. There is also an information icon on the top bar as long as the app is running in the background and connected to the HAs, what I appreciate.

Can somebody Phonak Target share what is thr latest firmware version for the P90-RL? My hearing aids have currently version 1.1.14.0 installed.

Thanks in advance.

For me it’s the opposite: only connects once as I launch the app but then it looses contact with the HAs until I restart the app… And so on.

I got to downgrade the app thanks to the fact that my phone is jailbroken but… Do you have any other suggestions to make the latest version of the app work properly?

Phonak suggests uninstall the app, unpair the HAs from phone, install the app again, pair the HAs… But I don’t feel comfortable doing that, I’m afraid to lose custom programs and stuff… But if you prove me it’s faster, I might take this risk!

And… Can anybody that has found the new app connection good and owning Lumity L90RT HAs, tell me what firmware version they have?

Having visited the audiologist and confirmed the firmware on my P90Rs is the latest and greatest, I now get the same behaviour you describe. On the plus side I at least no longer have to physically restart my phone. The app and phone no longer maintain a sticky connection over LE Bluetooth is my assumption. Restarting the app re establishes the connection.

@sundance what is the version number of the firmware you have now??

Any idea what going from 1.0.5.0 to 1.0.6.0 with the hearing aids changed?

Didn’t get told the version number. Was just told that there were no updates available to download…

You have Lumity, right?

It’s annoying firmware can’t be upgraded remotely…

The problem now is I can NOT close the app. Running Samsung S10e and tried the “close all” button and the swipe up of app when on screen and it is still running in background. After update I did restart my phone to see if that would make a difference but not so far. Maybe I need to update the aids themselves. I don;t know if that is a good thing or not.

Edit: Just looked again and seems to me that it just takes quite a bit of time to disconnect, like 2 minutes or so but did disconnect.

Go into your myPhonak app. The middle tab, my devices, then product information. That should show your firmware version.
